Hi all,

Planning a trip with 9 colleagues in September. We're doing the VIP tour, and need 2 nights stay. There are 10 adults. One couple, 8 singles (3 men, 5 women). I want to put together a recommendation for accommodation. I was going to suggest regular standard rooms, and people can share if they want, but now I'm realizing maybe suites would be a good idea? Totally unsure.

I want to suggest on property, as we're doing a vip trip so might as well, right? Walking distance is a must if we don't stay at a Disney resort though.

Any thoughts from people that have stayed in suites? DLH has 1, 2 and 3 bedroom suites available. Is that too much for coworkers, or would it be more fun? We do work retreats together 3 times a year where we often share rooms, so that's not an issue.

Days are September 22-24.

Appreciate feedback! Thanks!

I'd recommend standard rooms, with an option to share, or multiple connecting rooms. I've done retreats with coworkers, and I appreciated the option of sharing/not sharing; I'd deal with a suite, but it would be a bit uncomfortable/cozy for me. In my case, I snore (A LOT) and didn't want to make my coworkers cranky from lack of sleep due to snoring!

I'd go with standard rooms as well. As long as you will be splurging on the VIP tour, why not have your own rooms on site? Just makes for a very special few days at DLR. For me, the pixie dust of the tour would wear off pretty quickly if I had to return to a too cozy hotel situation afterward. If off site is a better option, then I would go with premium rooms at the CCI. Bathrobes, amenities basket, breakfast delivered to the room, private shuttle, etc. all make for a very nice stay.

Thanks to you both, your recommendations make sense. This helps a lot.

You mentioned "colleagues." Is this a work-related trip? Will you be spending more time experiencing the Parks or interacting with them? If you are willing to compromise on the walking distance, a vacation rental is a good solution, but you get a kitchen, dinning room, and private space to spend time with them.

This is a just for fun trip. We'll be mostly in the parks. Thanks for the idea!

I say standard rooms with the option to share. If you end up going offsite I'd look at The Springhill Suites on Katella/Harbour, The Hyatt House and Hyatt Place or The new Residence Inn. Also you can often get great rates at the Marriott or Hilton.
