Any reviews of the Refurbed VotLM yet?

Think it just reopened.

Did they fix the warehouse room with the terrible ceiling?

That appears to be a nice improvement!

Thanks for the link :)

The "solid plastic hair" situation has not been improved very much.

The only time Ariel has the new "fuzzy" hair is the Kiss the Girl sequence (at 4:20 on the refurb video vs. 10:20 on the original.)
King Triton gets new "fuzzy" hair/beard for the Post Wedding sequence (at 5:00 on the refurb video vs. 11:12 on the original.)

(I'm very surprised that they did not give Arial "fuzzy" hair throughout the attraction.)

Again, the link to the page containing the two videos I mention above is HERE.

In general, I am most shocked by the fact that there is zero water in the entire attraction. I always walk away from that ride thinking they should have had some "real" water elements. Even during the kiss the girl sequence, the fish could easily be spitting water instead of the plastic preformed stuff. Totally understand that Disney probably didn't need any more water rides in the MK but think that water is intricately linked to the story.

im kida surprised she didnt get all her hair changed as well. i agree i thought real water could have been added as well. i do like the black light, it makes it much much better and ties in with the other rides in fantasyland. shes always been my favorite princess and i do love the ride but always thought they fell short a bit on doing this ride and it could have been a little better.

I too think that she should have real hair during all the sequences, but let's think about this practically: can you imagine how hard it might be to have real hair in a scene that should have "floating" hair. When you go into a pool or whatever, your hair floats and moves all over the area. So it is much easier to have it be plastic-y during these sequences. But when she is above water her hair is dry and it's ok that it's real hair and it's easier to control.

Although why Eric's hair and Ariel's hair isn't real during the wedding and Kiss the girl sequences is beyond me. I like all the little sea critters, but I wish they had the moray eels. And with regards to lack of water, that may be a practical issue as well. The tunnels back there were leaking when 2000 Leagues was in, and to have the little fishes blow streams of water could become a mildew issue down the road. Not saying they couldn't or shouldn't do it, just that may have been the issue/motivation.

And with regards to lack of water,

1. that may be a practical issue as well.

2. The tunnels back there were leaking when 2000 Leagues was in, and

3. to have the little fishes blow streams of water could become a mildew issue down the road.

1. It definitely is that.
2. Just to be clear, the tunnels of 20K Leagues have no connection with the tunnels of VotLM.
3. Disney definitely has had similar problems with water.
Originally, the first scene in the Great Movie Ride, the Busby Berkeley "rotating tower of swimsuited gals," used to feature
actual water cascading down around the tower (as it did in the original 1933 movie, Footlight Parade.)
Mold and mildew (and white calcium residue) were constant problems.
It was not long before the water feature was shut off.
