Any Reviews of Liberty Tree Tavern without Characters?

They confirmed that the menu for LTT dinner is not changing. The only thing that has changed is there will no longer be characters.

I did my ADRs yesterday and the guy I spoke with made sure to tell me there were no characters and that lunch would be pot roast. If that helps anyone.

Hmmm. The Liberty Tree Tavern family style Souffers Frozen Food dinner without any characters to divert me from attention to my food.

What an appealing thought . . . Guess I'll have to book that -- but not in this lifetime.

Elizabeth have you actually eaten there before knocking it? It's not frozen food either.

Guess I am in the minority because my family and I loved the Characters at LTT.
We also enjoy the dinner. It is the place that our DGDs first started eating green beans! They loved them and now eat them all the time.:woohoo:

The whole purpose of going to WDW is to have fun with Mickey and the others. If they continue to take the Characters away, WDW will become just another amusement park instead of a magical place where we all can go and forget the problems of the outside world for a short time.:sad2: Just MHO.

I'm personally surprised at this point that they cut back only two character meals.

The meal itself if ok but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there now that there aren't any characters.

My family and I didn't care for the dinner there, and our character interaction was not so good, but we could've just had a really bad night. I am curious about the dinner reviews as well. We are planning on trying it again on our August trip though (probably lunch).

I agree that our family LOVED LTT with the characters. We thought the food was yummy! With a small child, it is nice to have a character meal and not have to wait in line forever to have a pic taken. I must say the characters at Chef Mickey's were not too good though. :( LTT - AWESOME!

We ate there on New Year's Eve. I asked the waitress about the upcoming change, and as of then, even the waitstaff didn't know what was happening. She said they were very sad to see the characters go and were hoping they'd bring it back to a character meal. She even gave me a business card to call Disney to try to bring them back! I just politely took it. I liked it there, but not enough to call...LOL

That being said though, I wouldn't go just for the dinner if it was the same, espeically if it's the same price. We've also been there for lunch and that was delicious!

I hope they offer a menu now that the characters have finally left. I hated when the characters came in and they made it into that set menu. Lunch is so much better than that dinner. I am very happy to see the characters leave. Now if they will just kick them out of CRT, CP, Akershus, Hollywood & Vine, and Garden Grill, I will be even happier!

My DH & DS would agree with you about Restaurant Akershus. They loved the pre-princess version. It was the only buffet they liked, but they're not interested in dining with the Princesses.

the nice thing about disney is that there are choices. We loved going before MNSSHP and having dinner with the characters dressed in their halloween costumes.

We only ate there on party nights. IMO, the characters & atmosphere were the only reasons to go. We definitely won't return solely for the food, unless they change the menu a lot.

Except for the green bean story, we feel the same way!! I loved LTT characters meal, enjoyed it all!

We were there on 1/3, had to fit it in before the characters left - we loved the characters there - Minnie in colonial garb, what could be better:) We really liked it because it wasn't buffet - I hate buffets, and though the food isn't the greatest, it's not bad, and the kids will actually eat it. I won't be eating there w/o the characters with the same menu, that's for sure. I bet over time, we'll see a different menu come into play - it won't be popular left the way it is, imho.

We really like LTT family style dinner. It isn't frozen foods. It's actually pretty good turkey, pork or ham, steak, and the sides are good as well. Is it the best meal on property? No. But it is good old fashioned comfort food. With or without characters it is a meal we will continue to enjoy.

I have more than once. Stuffing-from-a-box (yuck). Mac-n-cheese from-a-box (but that's to be expected.) Pork is usually dry. Turkey is 50/50. The beef was usually pretty good. The vegetable side has been a couple different things---the maple-glazed carrots were great. There was a green bean side that was pretty average. The cobbler at dessert was okay---the cherry version was better than the apple. I really liked the salad w/ strawberry dressing.

Garden Grill does a similar meal better. And it has characters.

I too was sad to read that the characters were going from this one. This was the first character meal for my daughter who was 3 at the time. We've eaten there every time we've gone since. It has always been one of our faves for the character interaction. I am looking forward to trying this one though without the characters. I've heard the lunch menu was really good but have never ventured to try it.

Liberty Tree has always been one of our favorites restaurants since long before it became a Character meal. I've book it for February. We love the food.

My kids really do like the food at LTT, and it's easier than a buffet. We'll miss the characters but luckily we go enough that they get their fill of character meals. We have an ADR 2/12 so I'll let you know how it goes.

.

The food was ok, not fantastic, but good simple food and hubby liked it :)

Willbe interesting to see if they stay with the family style or bring the lunch menu forward and add to it for dinner.

I hear your on the "good simple food". I actually enjoyed not having to think for a change about what I wanted...by the time we got to our LTT dinner on night 7 of our trip I was a food zombie and just having the decision made and brought out was a welcome break :goodvibes
