Any retail stores sell Stompeez slippers?

My toddler nieces have seen the infomercial and want Stompeez for Christmas. They are big bulky slippers whose heads/ears/mouths move when they stomp. They probably look better on tv but they really want them and have a sucker for an aunt! Anyway, are there any retail stores that sell them or do I have to pay outrageous shipping and handling and order them online? I checked out eBay but one of the animals that I'm looking for isn't available there.

Thanks in advance!

Heard on the 5th annual Christmas shopping thread on the family board that they are available at Kohl's, where you can use coupons and Kohl's cash to bring down the price.

I definitely saw some at Target. They had the unicorn and the alligator.

Ohmygosh! Thank you! I was at both Target and Kohls today. Guess I'll be going back to look for them! So glad I asked!

I saw them at Target and Wal-Mart this past week.

FYI: At my Target they are not in the shoe or kids section - they are on an "As Seen On TV" product-filled endcap.

I've seen them at Fred Meyer. They have their own display case (cardboard) in one of the main aisles.

Ok.. Lucky St. Louis, It looks like you may be in the St. Louis area? I saw them a few weeks ago at my Edwardsville IL Walgreens. They were in the aisle where they had the Halloween candy, next to an end cap. They did not have a lot of them. If you need me to, I can look again. (it will have to be before Friday, as I head to WDW for Thanksgiving then). Good Luck! :hippie:

:) Just a friendly FYI before you spend your $$$ that it sounds like toddlers might not weigh enough to have them work properly.

Example this review on ToysRUs: A big rip off. My daughter was so excited when we got these for her through another retailer. That soon turned to crying when no matter how hard she stomped, she could not get the eyes to lift up. I tried to make the eyes lift by squeezing the slipper but I could not even get the mechanism to "inflate" to the point where they would have popped up. If you go to their website, you cannot even get a phone number to speak to a human about their product. Took the unicorns back to the store and they let me try all of the other varieties they had, but none of those would work well either. So, unless you plan on sewing the eyes permanently up, don't waste the money for these.

Amazon:
These slippers must be stomped very hard for them to open. My graddaughter is too light to open the eyes without stomping with all her might and possibly hurting herself. Better for kids over 7 or 8. or kids that are heavy

My six year old wanted these so bad so we got them for is birthday. They are not worth the money that I spent. They look really cute but don't always work. The eye is very hard to get to pop up. My son does not weigh enough to have them work right. I have to stomp hard to get them to work.

There's even a "Boycott Stompeez" FB page:

I found a knock off version of these slippers at Gordmans. Much cheaper!

My daughter (6) has a pair of them she got last fall/winter. It was right about the time they had all the manufacturing/sizing and shipping problems as the demand overwhelmed the start up company, and we had issues with getting them (which is a long story) , but once we did, she loved them. I would say they are the best slippers she has ever had and well worth the money for all the use she got out of them. She loves those things. She has never had any trouble with them working (I won't say they work with every single footstep though), but even if they didn't work, she would love them because they are adorable. They have held up really well to heavy use too.

So far the ones, I've seen in the stores have been the smaller sizes, but I'm going to check some of the places mentioned this weekend because hers are getting a little dirty from use, and I would like to get her another pair. To the OP, I'm not sure I would order them from the website because unless they have improved a ton, their delays and shipping can be a nightmare and I would be concerned about whether the slippers would make it by Christmas, but I would definitely check out the stores and grab a pair. I'm not sure about the Gordman's knockoffs, but I have seen some other knock offs and they were not nearly as cute or as good a quality.

Update...I went to multiple Kohl's, Target and Walmart and found them. Got a unicorn at Kohl's with 30% off ($14.00) however my other niece wants the purple playful puppy which I can't find anywhere. It's sold out everywhere except the manufacturers site which I am hesitant to order from. eBay had it for $45.00. Um...no way! So I'll keep looking at the other stores mentioned and hopefully come across the one I need.

Thanks again or all of your replies!
