Hey, guys! We just came back from an 11-day trip to WDW. We stayed at three hotels (Pop, Coronado, AKL) and toured all the others on property...any questions you have, ask away!

How cool...you went from Value, to Moderate, to Deluxe! :goodvibes Looking to stay at AKL for the FIRST time on our June 2013 trip. Even with FL ressie discount, we can only afford standard view rooms. Where did you stay in the lodge? I've been there before...eaten at BOMA and JIKO....the resort is BEAUTIFUL!!

We stayed in a savannah view room at Kidani by renting DVC points (it only cost $150 including tax per night). Savannah view was gorgeous, but there are so many public areas to see the animals, including every 20 seconds of hallway (lol!), that it isn't "necessary". AKL is absolutely stunning, and Boma and Jiko were indeed spectacular, as was Sanaa. There is definitely a difference in the rooms and resorts of the three categories, and with the ability to rent DVC points, that makes staying at deluxes a no-brainer! The rooms at AKL are unbelievably beautiful...we knew within 2 minutes of being in that room that on our trip next year that is the Only hotel we're staying at!

We have a value-moderate-deluxe split stay trip coming up. Did you drive your own car? I've never done a split stay before, but this trip we are actually changing resorts twice. We will have our own car, so I'm hoping it won't be a huge hassle. How was the resort-changing experience for you?

Thanks! I'm really looking forward to it. Our family has certain dietary restrictions and their quick service restaurant Mara accommodates that. :woohoo:

Hi there! We had our own car, too, so the resort changing experience was no issue at all. One of our favorite things about the trip was seeing the 20+ hotels on property extensively and eating at almost all of them...these hotels are truly amazing! We never even "checked out" of any of the hotels officially...we never charged anything to the room (didn't really see the point), so every time we left a hotel, we literally just left. Have a Wonderful trip - if you have any other questions, feel free to ask!
