We are going for our first DVC vacation this fall, :goodvibes :goodvibes at this time we will be staying at AKV for the first 7 nights, first 3 nights in concierge the rest in Savanna view, then depending on availability we will try to stay at OKW for the rest, 6 nights, of the stay. I think we can get the ressie at the OKW but now the light of my life for 40 years   wants to maybe move to BCV for the last 2 nights.

So you all that have visited lots :worship: and maybe jumped from resort to resort does it get too be too much moving around? Also will the staff move our baggage from resort to resort?

Some people here say it's easy and do it often. They say different resorts make it feel like different vacations. Yes, Disney will move your bags from resort to resort. We've moved, but always with a car, so our things stay in the car on moving day until our room is ready. We tend to move after trying something different for a Saturday night stay. In December, we tried a AKV value studio for just one night, and then moved to VWL.

When in the fall do you want to go? I think you better call day by day for the BCV days. I hope you get what you want!

We're celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary in '08...a yearlong celebration for us! Congratulations on your 40 years:love: !

Our ressie's are for November 9-21, ALV concierge Nov 9-11, Savanna view 12-15, then on to OKW Nov 16-19 and maybe BWV Nov 20-21 depending on availability. We have a ressie for the full stay at AKV for now and am waiting for the 7 month date.

Moving is a bit disruptive. We stay at two different resorts each trip. Any more then that and we would feel like we are spending more time moving than having fun.

You have to check out by 11 AM and might not get to check in until after 4 PM at the other resort. The luggage is transfered around 3 PM. If you don't have a car, you are looking at the transfer eating up several hours of your day by the time you pack, check your luggage, check out, transfer, check in, and unpack. The main reason that we like to stay at different resorts is the feeling of two vacations rolled into one. The other reason is the DDP. We find that it's a good deal for a couple of days, but anymore than that and you are a slave to food.

In April we are scheduled to move four times at AKV. I ended up getting a job that requires that I review the new AKV. I love the job but moving four times in two weeks isn't something that I am looking forward to. ;)

We transferred without a car. I called bell services early that morning to tell them we were moving resorts and needed luggage transfer. They asked when the baggage would be ready. I told them 10am. They told me that someone would be there around 10:30 to pick up the luggage. Put the "do not disturb" tag on the door, and I could check out at my leisure. If I wanted to leave a tip, leave it under the largest piece of luggage.

I did all that, we went to the next resort to check in - I had booked a character breakfast at the latest seating at the resort (BCV) to kill some time. And the plan was to spend the day at MGM. Our room was ready at 3pm, and we went back to our room, relaxed, and called down to bell services to have our luggage delivered.

All told, the only disruption was packing. But since we were only staying one night at the second resort before flying out, it was good to be already packed.

I love the lack of consistency at Disney. We have been told that we had to be present when our luggage was picked up. They gave us a transfer claim check that is required at the new resort to claim our luggage. Another item is no transportation from resort to resort. Just getting to the new resort can take over a hour by the time you do a bus transfer.

No, there is no transport resort to resort, but we went from SSR to BCV, where we took a bus from SSR to Epcot, and walked through to International Gateway, and walked to BCV.

It didn't take that long, but we have an AP so we don't mind using the admission.

It sucks tho that Disney is inconsistent. I just hope everyone's transfers are as easy as ours were.

One move is max for us. I do LOVE staying at different resorts (no real favorite), but enjoy settling in for the duration of our trip, regardless of length. Overall, as easy as Dis makes it, my preference is to stay at one resort each trip.

I will say, though, that with points being so high on the weekends, staying at a value resort on Friday and/or Saturday really allows us to stretch our points and makes the move a little more tolerable! :thumbsup2

Thanks for all your replies, I am leaning towards AKV then OKW and keep BCV for another date.

Thanks
