Any remedies for sore muscles????

I am assuming this is just my muscles saying - you're a stupid idiot and out of shapte - but here's what happened. On Sunday we went to the ballgame and we were in the upper deck, second to the last row. The stairs are very slanted and steep. Going up I had some "asthma" problems but no problems with my legs. Coming down I reserved myself a bit and took my time but also put some pressure on my legs because I was afraid of falling (I'm very nervous at high heights and get dizzy easily when standing up pretty high and using steep stairs so I try to be careful). Well on our way out my legs felt like they were going to buckle. I just attributed it to the beer I had making me feel a bit weird. I woke up yesterday morning and I couldn't go down the stairs. The bottoms of my upper legs and just above my knee wouldn't take any weight and wouldn't bend without felling like I was going to buckle - very weird for me.

So last night I laid down and used one of those therma wrap things on that part of my leg thinking it would help with the swelling of the muscles because that's what I thought it might be. This morning my right leg is a bit better, can put some weight on it but it's my left leg that is really giving me problems. I can't bend it or lift it very easily without alot of pain. I hit it and I'm in excruciating pain. I've been taking some ibuprofen and think I might need to put another wrap on it tonight but do you have any other suggestions? And do you think it's really my muscles just saying I'm dumb and out of shape and it will just take time?
 
You might also try some ice packs. If the pain is due to swelling the ice pack will help with the swelling and thus the pain.

And if the pain doesn't go away in a day or two, I'd go see a doctor and make sure you didn't pull something somehow.
