Trying to get a plan together for our trip in July, from the 6th to the 12th. With all the different comments on these threads lately I'm completely at a loss of what to do. We are a party of DD (35), DGS (6 and autistic), DNc (16) and me (61 and in a scooter). I love all rides, DGS loves rides and we're hoping he'll be able to do all the rides he wants, he's 47" tall. DNc also loves all rides, my DD not so much but she likes the tame rides.

We'll be arriving on Wednesday into LAX @12:00 noon, planning on using Uber to get to DLH. I really am at a loss on what to do first. We'll have a 5-day hopper, using one day as a down day where we plan on renting a cabana for 1/2 day and going to DTD for dinner (or Goofy's Kitchen) and then to the movies. But that is the only day we have planned.

I go to WDW almost every year but have only been once to DL back in 2003. I always have a planned itinerary and even if we don't follow it to a T, at least we have some guidance. I have a Disneyland guide book but reading the threads here I don't think I can really rely on them. I'd much rather have opinions from the folks here. Any suggestions for this time of year would be greatly appreciated. :teeth::moped::thanks:

Hi.
First I did like the Unofficial Guide as far as touring plans. They explain things and get you into a good pattern.

A few things- you say grandson is 47" tall. There are afew rides with a 48" height restriction at DCA. If he wants to do those rides, maybe pack him a sneaker or sandal with a little bit of a lift when you go to DCA one day and switch shoes before riding.

There's a lot more attractions at the DL park than the DCA park so plan to spend more time at that park although the attractions at the DCA park are good too.

You will get soaked on the Grizzly Run and you may get wet on Splash Mt. Some people carry an extra pair of shorts in their backpacks or they save those rides for later in the day.

There's many choices of rides and shows so you'll have plenty to do. There's a good variety of rides too so I'm sure you'll all have a great time.

I see you are staying at DLH. Definitely take advantage of the Magic Morning/ Extra Magic Hour. You will get more done in your first 2-3 hours in the park than you will the rest of the day.

During that time of year the parks open at 8am, which means MM/ EMH starts at 7am. Get to the gate 6:40am at the latest, so you won't be too far back in line. I know it isn't easy to get the family up and at the gate that early, but if you can it is so worth it.

Thanks for replies, they are helpful. Luckily for me, my DGS is an early riser and so is my DD, the only late sleeper is DNc but I told her we will leave without her if she doesn't get up LOL! She's old enough to go alone but we really wouldn't leave her (just empty threats LOL) But we do plan to do MM as much as we can, I just don't know which rides to pick and this is what I'm seeking advice on. Any other suggestions would be very welcome.
