Hi,

Am looking to contact a broker that sells DVC. Any recommendations ?

Couple of questions ?

- If sale doesn't go through because Disney excercies its right of first refusal does buyer still have to pay any costs ?
- When Disney does do the exercise do they simply resell it to people on wait list at that particular resort ?

I have used The Timeshare Store. www.dvcstore.com several times. Just sold a contract through them this month.

No, if Disney takes the contract, the buyer will get the deposit back. Yes, once Disney takes back a contract, they can and do sell those points to people buying direct.

I second the The Timeshare Store. We have dealt with them a couple times and each experience has been first rate. They are our go to resale place.

********** is excellent, we've used The Timeshare Store and they also are excellent as is dvcresalemarket. I have worked with different styles of brokers and I prefer a broker who will take my verbal offer and call the owner immediately. I have been able to work a deal in as little as an hour or so. I always print a copy of the listing and write down exactly what I will offer including terms for paying dues and anything else I need to articulate. I think it is crucial to confirm UY, asking price and all details as there are sometimes typos. I always follow up a verbal agreement with an email to the listing agent so there are no misunderstandings. You walk away if Disney takes it but you have wasted time and possibly missed a good deal which is why it is important to make a solid offer. Good luck!

Edit - oops

There is a huge list of companies out there. Don't worry about a specific broker. Find the contract that is the right number of points, with the right Use Year, that is loaded. Then do a quick search to make sure the company is legit.

I used https://www.fidelityresales.com/disney-timeshares and https://www.dvcresalemarket.com/listings/ both in the last month and they were great.

Its too big of a purchase to pigeon hole yourself to one broker that may or may not get exactly what you are looking for and for the best price.

Get on mailing lists, call and let some brokers know what you want and see who responds with listings and earns your business
