Can anyone recommend a site that offers good deals on a months stay, Im lucky enough to be going over from end Jan to end Feb 2006 but my experiance in other countries is that there are always places for rent at good rates for a month, However, I am having troubles finding any in Orlando online, could do with a 2bed suite or villa but everything is per night or per week which can be expensive, Many thanks for your help in advance.

(glad to see you here, by the way:) Did you get much wind/rain in Birmingham?)

We've rented a villa for 3 weeks in Feb..my aunt and uncle have rented one for the entire month..lots of owners are happy to "reduce" their posted rates for a long term renter.. little less revenue, but guaranteed income trade-off, I guess:)

We've used vrbo, with great success, and you can also try www.orlandovillas.com , and their sister sites. They also have free forums to ask lots of questions, and everyone is great to help:)

HTH!!

Birmingham had lots of winds and rain.

over 250,000 resident lost their power. Ala power says it lost more of its super structure than it did with Ivan.

Ala power still has 37,000 resident out in the b'ham area

My mother is one. Yesterday she gave in and came to stay with me. My cats are up in arms. They generally like mother. But they don't like anyone to stay over night in their area.... :goodvibes

At 83 I don't want her alone without power. She lives in a big house. I live in a condo - BIG CHANGE for her. but at least she know she is never alone.

My power did not go out.

thanks for asking!!!!

Hi, we are renting 3 bedroom home with pool for 1400/month including all utilities and pool heat.

We did this by contacting a number of owners who were vacant and offering them a set fee for the month. This is low season at Disney and many owners will be very happy to have the property rented.
We usually offer about two weeks rental for the month and emphasize we are just two adults, no children, so minimal wear and tear on the home or condo, that we will only have one cleaning fees during the month, that will save owner about 80 to 100 dollars over the month.
I use www.vrbo.com www.villas2000.com and www.vacationrentals.com
These 3 have hundreds of rentals. On vrbo you can ask the site to list by bedrooms to make search easier. Vacation rentals is listed by number of bedrooms and Villas2000 will do just condos or homes.

Once on the site I look at only condos and homes with the "availability calendars" as this eliminates homes or condos in a hurry.
There are more steps that really really work. It is win win for you and owners.
If they have all of Feb open, they should be happy to have you.

Feel free to email or PM me and I can go into more detail.

I have no doubt you can get a nice, basic, two/three bedroom condo for about 900/month or a 3/4 bedroom pool home for about $1500.

it's all in what you want:)

Well, he didn't say that *exactly*,;) but if basic accomodations are what you're after, then I agree, you should be able to find something workable. (Listen to GrandpaTed, the man knows what he's typing about:):) )

We're paying $2400 for our three weeks in February, taxes and pool/spa heat in, for a 4 bedroom/highspeed/gated community/games room/two masters with king beds/cable tv's in all bedrooms, etc, etc.

I figured if we could find accomodations for $800/week total (for the 6 of us, we're splitting some costs with my parents), we would be doing well. Cost per night, per family is working out to $57 and change.

Then again, we'll have more wear and tear on the house too:)

Glad you, your mom - and Spicey and the Gang - are all ok, spiceycat!!:)

Hi MBB,.

Absolutely!!! If you want to lock in early and make sure that the home is available and you want top amenities, then the price will go up. To be very honest, as a former owner, it is supply and demand and some ability to swallow your pride.
I would get a few calls from very moxy, smart rentors who would wait till the week before they came. They noticed our 7 bedroom was open for the week and would offer $700 for the week. Normal price about $1800. I could get angry, feel insulted, or compliment them on their knowlege and say "Heck Yes", 700 dollars will net me 500 after costs and that will pay the utilities for the month. Very very few rentors were that savvy.

IMHO, you can find a 4 bed 3 bath, king beds for $1500 in Jan, Feb, or March (except Easter) easy. In fact that is what we did last year in Hamton Lakes. Obviously the longer you rent the better the rate!!

This year we wanted a development closer to Disney on Old Lake Wilson. It would be very close my part time job at Mystic Dunes Golf course.
So we found a 3/2 for 1400 total. Last year the $1500 became $1800 for pool heat.
The most important thing is to have fun at a reasonable cost and you have certainly done this with your family...Have a wonderful time and maybe we will see each other in the parks.

All the best,
Grandpa Ted

We have had requests for 1 night up to 1 year. I think it depends on what you have booked. The more consective weeks or months with the same renter would normally bring a better rate. Have you tried daystarvilla.com?
