I am checking into all-inclusive packages for a Mexico vacation in February. We have gone once before to Porta Vallarta and wouldn't mind giong there again but we would like to try a different resort this time.

Can anyone recommend either a good site to find a resort or the resort itself? We don't have alot of requirements, we aren't looking for a top of the line resort but we would like it to be on the beach. We are looking for a adult vacation with out the kids. I have found a couple of sites but it's so hard to tell from their pictures and descriptions.

Thanks for any insite anyone can provide us!!

Hi! I've been to the Riviera Maya 3 times(the airport is Cancun).
Go to Apple Vacation's website and click Mexico then Riviera Maya.
They provide some good info and a picture of each property. I'd
personally try to get a good deal on one of the 6 rated properties but stayed at the Bahia Principe and loved our oceanfront room there-you have to request that category and pay for it.
The cheaper rooms were in the back and too near the place where trash was burned daily for me. Depends on when you go as to the cost. October and November are cheap but that's because it's hurricane season and also off season for families so tourism is low. We loved the water parks and brackish
lagoons for snorkeling as well as the biosphere and the ruins for
sightseeing. Playa del Carmen has some shopping and most hotels are all inclusive with decent/not outstanding food. Moon Palace is good. Aventura Palace is good. Any 6 rated but look for the deals and ask for specifically oceanfront rooms - no point in being on the ocean if you can't see it in your jammies!
Have fun!

We haven't been to any resorts but on our cruise we stopped in Playa del Carmen to pick up a bus tour to Tulum. The beaches and resorts on the water were beautiful, and Tulum was a short trip away and also wonderful. We also spent part of that day in Cozemul which was fun if you are into shopping and clubs - again we were on a cruise though so I don't have any feedback about the resorts individually...

Las Hadas in Manzanillo used to be beautiful. I have never stayed there, but I have had dinner there with friends who lived in the area. I bet it's still top notch. You might want to check into it.
