we are staying here in March, and wanted to know if anyone has stayed there recently, I know they are remodeling. Any pics or reviews would be cool. :badpc: :moped:

I stayed there in Jan. The grounds are beautiful, our room was nice but the food is expensive.
While we were there, we did hear them remodeling the rooms above ours. (not sure what they have done since then)

Enjoy!

I am staying there in November!
The refurbishment of rooms is meant to finish at the end of August and so far they are on track.
The refurbished rooms look really nice (see pics on Trip advisor).
I have stayed at this hotel 5 times - if you need any info - just yell!

Great thanks for chiming in. I do have a few questions, like which rooms can we view the fireworks from?. Can I request a fireworks view room?,. Second how are the buses to WDW? we are driving down in March, and am wondering if the bus is worth it to take?. do they charge a fee for the bus. (Celebrity resorts did charge)

Yes there are tower rooms that overlook Disney - but in the distance! - you can see the fireworks etc from all 3 parks. Other rooms overlook a lake (very nice) and some slightly over DTD.

They are usually pretty good are giving you the rooms you want though I believe the Disney view rooms may cost slightly more (though I have never paid more)

There is a bus that takes you to all the parks - no charge. Unless it has changed it leaves every half an hour (but don't expect it to be exactly on time you give yourself a 5 min window either way)- The BP is the first pick up and the first drop off so you never have a problem with getting seats!

It can be a bind having to go around all the other htoels picking up - butI just factor this into my timings to make sure I am at the parks when I want to be.

Hope this helps!

Disney is in the distance (you can make out incons like the castle/moutain chain, Epcot ball, Tower of Terror and Contemporary hotel) but the views of Downtown Disney are spactacular. And yes, they do charge more for these rooms. These rooms are also more used/worn than other rooms (like the rooms surrounding the spa) but that shouldn't matter too much since the renovation.

Bus service is included in the resort fee (mandatory... use to be easy to get out of, but not anymore)... the Downtown Disney bus transportation is -- without question -- the best non-Disney bus transportation system.

As for an opinion of the hotel... many are available on tripadvisor but read them with subjectivity. I like this hotel but many don't since it is your typical upscale, convention-type hotel (re: lesiure travelers are secondary and all food/drinks are priced toward expense accounts -- but not that much more than Disney). It's a great value -- usually around the price of a Disney value resort or a little more -- and you get the service/amenities of a luxury hotel.

We landed this hotel through Hotwire gfor $70.00 a night, we both think this was a awesome deal. And really look forward to checking it out.
