:wizard: We have an ADR for Tutto Italia in August and have been reading some mixed reviews. Has anyone eaten there recently who could give us a recent review?

We are already going to...
'Ohana
Cali Grill
Tusker House
Captain's Grill
Bongo's
Crystal Palace (breakfast)
The Wave (breakfast)

Our experience there is getting a bit old: It was in January 2010. Service was pretty poor, and the food wasn't as we had asked. Generally, I advise against Tutto for that reason.

We went in August 2010, service was excellent as was the food. It's one of our favorites. I'm a little disappointed now though because there is a new menu & one of my favorites is not on it. We are going again in August. Hopefully someone who has been there recently will post about their experience now.

Here is the link to the thread with the new menus:

I was there in June, and I would not go back. I would use the term "Chef Boyardee" to describe it, because that's what it tasted like: mass-produced, generic Italian food. As another poster said in another thread on this topic, if an Italian place can't make a decent marinara, it's tough to have too much faith in anything else on the menu.

In fairness, I'm a bit of a snob and other less finicky people in our group loved it, but my wife and I thought it was uninspired and if others in our group was hell-bent on going again, I'd probably agree and then feign illness and let them go while I ate at a QS place instead. ;)

:wizard: I just looked at the old menu on AllEars and the new menu on DIS and it now looks that the menu has a lot less offerings....could that be true? Would they cut back what's on the menu from what they previously served?? I'm so confused.....

Unfortunately, this has been the Disney trend for some time, not just Tutto Italia. The quality has declined, but prices have increased.

OP, we have dined, several times, at Tutto and enjoyed the food..as well as the service. Our last experience was in December.

Went twice in May. This is my new favorite. :hug:The eggplant appy (Parmigiana Melanzane - baked eggplant, "Fior di Latte" Mozzarella, tomato, Parmesan cheese $12

)
and the antipasto misto were fantastic!

We were on dxdp so had 3 courses. We would not hesitate to go back without the DDP. Would just get a couple appys to split. :woohoo:

So I have to defend my favorite restaurant. We were there last month and it was by far our whole family's favorite meal, and no one but me really even cares for Italian. The apps were great, the entrees were excellent and the desserts were inventive.

In addition, I have to disagree with the PP who talked about the menu. The menu here is probably 3 times more extensive than any Disney owned restaurant. Most Disney places have 1 chicken, 1 steak, 1 fish, 1 veggie entree. Here they have about 8-10 DESSERTS to choose from.

Our server and the host of the restaurant were not just efficient, but they were...well...charming! What gentlemen. I felt not just served but WAITED on, if you get my idea.

We went here because I chose it for my 40th birthday celebration and everyone else was going for me. By the end everyone, including my Italian food hating mom, agreed it was the best of our 12 TS meals.

I hope you can see from all the posts that as far as food goes, everyone has such wildly different tastes. If the menu looks good, try it. It's a beautiful restaurant with gracious people and great food, IMO. The meatball appetizer was amazing!

I have an ADR here on my next trip and have never been. I like Italian food. With the day and time we wanted, and I'm a bit of a picky eater, it came down to Nine Dragons and Tutto Italia. I've eaten at ND before, and while it was one of my most favorite meals I've had at Disney, it was off their specials menu that night.

I'm still looking forward to Tutto, hopefully I'll find it good. What's the better desert there? I'm a chocoholic, but I love tiramisu. I'm torn between the mocha tiramisu and the chocolate torta.

DH had the tiramisu and raved about it. DS12 had the torta and loved it as well. I think I'd take hubby's word over DS' since he's not as experienced, but I don't think you can go wrong. We had 5 different desserts at our table and all were great...

We were last there in May 2011. We always put this on our list to do again.
We love their Sangria, light refreshing, it's fun cocktail for the end of a long tiring ( but very fun) day. We get the antipasto platter appetizer but have tried others and never been uphappy. DH normally order the lasagna and me I like the ravioli - in May I believe it was seafood stuffed. I preferred a lighter sauce, it came with fresh tomato & basil sauce. I enjoyed it very much. We have tried many of their dessert, and always have been happy.

We have ressie's for our up coming trip on Dec. 2011.

Personally, I would give it a try and form your own opinion.

This is the what DH and I share for lunch each time. Been there 5 times and always enjoy it.

I'm the OP and I was looking at the past and present menu after someone mentioned it had changed. The meals that we were planning on getting (yes, we study the menus obsessively before we go) are no longer on the new menu. While 8-10 desserts is very appealing, we just don't know why the entree menu seems so limited. The limited menu and the mixed reviews have us a little worried....:confused3

There is another thread where someone posted the actual new menu. Alot of things are still on it from before.

We are going again in December. Havent been in a while. But we enjoyed it before. We tried Via Napoli instead of Tutto last time and it was terrible. So its back to Tutto for us. I really like the atmosphere there.

Hi, OP. When I said there were 8-10 desserts to choose from, I was saying that as an illustration as to how extensive their entire menu is. There were 8 or more pastas plus about that many meat entrees. I think the menu posted is more representative than the actual menu as I noticed that several of the things we ate were not on that one, such as the short ribs and the stuffed pork chop. There are certainly more items on it than any other menu on Disney property.

We were there last month and everyone found something to eat that they loved. I'd definitely give it a try.:goodvibes

We had to decide between Tutto ot Via Napoli. I really wanted the Lasagna from Tutto, but the menu didnt seem doable for the rest of my picky eating family. Via Napoli has Chicken Parm, Pizza, and a few more items that are family pleasers. I am gonna try the Candele which looks alot like meat lasagna. VN has a lasagna but it is veggie. No Go in my book. I hope I made the right choice, I will find out in Oct, and chime back in. Thanks

I eat at Tutto at least once during every visit to WDW. I've never experienced bad service or food at the restaurant. I actually find it quite pleasing. I also like testing what little Italian I know while speaking with the waiters. They're always extremely pleasant in my experience.
