We have this booked, but I read so little about it. We do have it timed to catch the water parade and Wishes.:thumbsup2 How is the food? We have never been.

You are in for a treat!!! DH and I took my parents on 10-11-07 for an 8:00pm
ADR and had a wonderfull time. The restaurant is small and cozy. We got the best table in the house....front and center window seat. This was our 3rd time here.

Lori was our server and we couldn't have asked for better. The food was delish, nice wine menu. great atmosphere. We had surf and turf and whole lobster and it was prepared perfect. The Almond crusted cheesecake is a must try. DH had the sorbet with berries and I swear the blackberries were as big as a large grape tomato and soooooo sweet. I know you will enjoy your evening.

We are returning 9-11-08 and at the end of Oct 2008 ( for the F&W) and plan to ADR at Narcosee's for both trips. Take time to stroll around the GF, its beautiful.

Just went to Narcoosee's October 10th, first time. We (DH, DD9 and me) had a great meal.

We were seated close to a window, but not right at a window. We wouldn't have been there for the fireworks, so we didn't mind not be right at the window. Waiter was Chevvy (like the car, he said, he was from Detroit).

I had the pear and endive salad and it was great and DH and dd had the cesear salad for appetizers.

For entree's, I had the surf and turf which was fantastic and DH and dd both had the filet. My husband likes his steak more of a medium well and when asked the waiter, he said he should order it medium as it would come out slightly pink as he wanted it. I should have listened to the folks here because I know they tend to undercook at Disney, so of course he was slightly disappointed as his steak was much more medium than medium well. He did manage to eat most of it though. Both adult sides came with potatoes gratin and I loved them. My DH like the ones at Coral Reef better. DD came with mashed. She didn't eat much of them and didn't touch the green beens as she was saving room for dessert.

We all had chocolate for dessert. DH and I had the warm chocalate gateau and dd(9) had the brownie sundae. Yummy. Again, DH liked the chocolate wave better at Coral Reef better (he had to scape the almonds off the top). I thought they were both great.

I also had an appletini with dessert. I don't know why I keep ordering them, they taste like pure alcohol to me. I wanted to try a glowtini, but it wasn't on the menu and I didn't ask if they had them.

All around, we loved Narcoosee's and wouldn't hesitate going back. Even DH who is really picky really liked it.

Have fun.

We went on 10-7-07 and had a wonderful meal! We had an early ADR at 5:30 and were seated immediately at a window. Our server was Natalie and she was top-notch throughout the whole meal. DH started with the calamari for an appy and I had the special, fried oysters and popcorn shrimp. DH said the calamari was exactly like he had in Italy, and it was a huge serving. Beware if you're expecting calamari like at Red Lobster- you get some of the squid rings, but you also get a LOT of little whole squid! I wish I knew how to post a picture! It was very dsiconcerting to me to keep looking at what appeared to be tiny whole octopus in all their deep fried glory--I could not stop giggling at them! DD6 had the kid's chicken noodle soup and deemed it very good. The bread they bring is very good, but crusty, which means when you are cutting yourself a piece, you make a big mess with crumbs all over the table! Nothing to fear, Natalie had a crumb scraper to clean the table.

For entrees we both had surf and turf. I will be a rebel here, and say I don't know what the big deal about lobster is. This was the first I'd tried that was not in a dip, soup, or stuffing. It was good, but I still like scallops better; I should have asked for the substitution, b/c they will do that. Our steaks were cooked perfectly med.well, but DH did not care for the sauce on them at all. His steak actually tasted a little gamey, so Natalie brought him out another one (with sides, too!) without a second thought. DD got the kid's filet and hers tasted fine; I think DH would have just liked his plain. The gratin potatoes are to die for here! You also get asparagus, which was very good. DD's mashed potatoes were quite yummy and she actually ate more of these than the steak.

For dessert I had the Almond Cheesecake, which was the best cheesecake I have ever had anywhere, any flavor. The cherries really complement this very well. DH had the chocolate gateau which is much like the chocolate wave at Coral Reef. He loved this. I had ordered DD a Cinderella's slipper for dessert and she loved it! It is a white chocolate 3 inch slipper filled with whipped cream and topped with raspberries. She ate almost the whole thing and half of the chocolate mousse that comes with it, and still wanted to order her s'mores (since we were on DDP, she had a dessert coming to her). There were four good sized graham cracker sandwiches with real toasted marshmallows (which I love!) and hershey squares. She only managed one of these.

When we finally rolled out of there, it was dark, and the bay was so pretty with the castle glowing in the distance. This was a wonderful meal with great service, the restaurant was not too loud or crowded and we would definitely go back again! Bill without DDP would have been $230.

Enjoy your meal here!!

We're trying Narcoose's for the first time on our upcoming trip (in less than a month - yea!!!)! These reviews are making me so excited (and hungry)!!!!!

I'm also going to Narcoossee's for the first time in December. I changed my ADR from the Yachstman Steakhouse. This restaurant sounds like a great choice! I am excited! :)

These reviews make me excited that I made the ADRS. Maybe it's a good thing we could not get in California Grill.

Thanks

For years we went to CG and loved, loved, loved it...then we tried Narc and haven't been back to CG since...Although I see lots of kids at Narc, I would not want to take kids there -- it is just too romantic and a perfect night out of slow, fine dining, then go outside to watch the fireworks and/or water parade, then go back inside for desert! For us, it's like a 3 hour event.

DH gets the Ahi Tuna seared rare -- I usually get any of the fish entrees. We get either the calamari or mussels for appetizers (and I never eat mussels anywhere else -- I never cared for them until I had them by Narc). For dessert we get one of their creme brulees (again, another item I never eat elsewhere but Narc "does it good".)

Enjoy everyone! And don't rush through your meal (unless of course, I have my ressie right after yours! :rotfl2: ) but take the time to actually sit and relax at this wonderful place.

FYI -- we were on the DDP but decided to pay out of pocket instead -- we find 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, bottle of wine and 1 dessert plenty of food here and rather not use up two TS credits (or actually 4).

:wizard: We were there in mid-August and it was amazing! The food was excellent, the service was top notch and we were able to watch Wishes from our table next to the window. We were not rushed at all and found the atmosphere was so relaxing. It was our best meal of the trip and we had many good meals. :thumbsup2

we've got ADRs at Narcoosees for twice during the week we're there - can't wait!

ate at Narcoosees last year and LOVED it!

crabcakes, lobster, almond crusted cheesecake! heaven!!!! :wizard:

Just posted this on another thread. We loved our first trip to Narcoosee's and will be back. There were five of us, so we tried a little of everything and shared. Our server did a great job, never rushed us and selected wonderful wines to go with our meal. (Let's hear it for the DDE.) Everything was very good. The great service and terrific view of the fireworks just made for a perfect evening. FWIW.

I have eaten at Narcoosees the past 6 times I went (including on October 15th 2007, just this week).

I really love this restaurant. It is a real dining experience. Their menu changes sometimes and they offer new items all the time.

For my appetizer this time I had the pumpkin soup (which was divine!) The surf and turf which included steak that melted in my mouth (it was cooked medium), delicious lobster, and the best tasting scalloped potatoes ever!! For desert I had the cheesecake which was also very good. (personally, I think that other restaurants excel in desserts, but Narcoosees is the best in everything else).

You will absolutely not regret going there!

Oh noooo! Now everyone will know what we know....that Narcoosie's is a gem! We were there with our twin boys (age 8 at the time) and we all loved it, from service to food to stepping out to watch the fireworks and returning to the table for dessert.

Definitely always going to be on our list!

Glad we didn't hesitate to take my 5yo, turning 6yo nephew to Narcoossee's his first taste of Disney magic: he was presented with a birthday button at Narcoossee's as this was our first night meal. Then we went to read our menu and at the top it read "Happy 6th Birthday Zeke". I did not pre arrange anything, his birthday was simply noted in our reservation info. The smile that crossed his face and the "how'd they do that" look and question were priceless and for me to be able to simple tell him, "Disney magic" could not have made his first night at Disney anymore special. He was enchanted by the electic water parade. Although he doesn't like the noise associated with fireworks, he did venture out to join me on the deck for the Wishes finale. I also had the chance to "introduce" him to Jiminey cricket during the show. We made great family memories at Narcoossee's and I wouldn't trade the time!

Oh yea there is food there too..lol
Mom had the Grouper special and YOAMD cheesecake.
I had crab cakes and Surf and Turf, subbed scallops for the turf, no problem.
Zeke had Mickey pasta, sauce and grated cheese were served in the "ears". We paid OOP for Zeke, $10 total for his meal, including a nice tip.
Chevy was our server and did an awesome job!

I'm trying to be strong and try new places on our next trip, but if I keep reading posts like this we'll end up right back at Narcoossee's! Thanks "friends", thanks a lot...lol

We were just there a couple weeks ago. Tho it seems like forever. But in our party we had Heart of Romaine and Narc's Chowder as app's. Then Surf n' Turf and Filet Mignon for entree's. Not much room for desert, except for DD's White Chocolate Cinderella Slipper. But everything was delish! popcorn::

one word.........

YUMM !!!!

I cannot wait until December.........I haven't eaten at Narcoossee's since 1996. I am SO looking forward to this meal !!!!

The pumpkin soup sounds delicious! I'm hoping it's similar to the Butternut Squash soup, which I love. It's not listed on the most recent menu I've seen-hopefully it will be there when I go 11/29.

We were there around the same time and our experience was exactly the opposite;)

All things considered it was our worst meal while we were there, so it is always possible to have a bad meal at any of the restaurants.

My wife had the surf and turf and the lobster tail was over cooked (soft and watery) while the filet was tough to cut and tough to chew. I had the scallops and they weren't as good as the ones I had as an appetizer at the Brown Derby.

But it was the very slow service that was the worst. It was crowded and we had our longest wait to be seated (about 20 minutes) but it took longer (after being seated) to eat at Narcoossee's than it did to eat at V&A's the following night.:confused3

I'm sorry to hear this, as we have always had a wonderful meal here.

Just curious, what did they say/do when you told them the lobster and steak were not good...?
