Any recent feedback on Storytime townhomes at WH?

We're considering one of the Storytime townhouses for our trip next June and would love to hear from anyone who has stayed in one recently. We're especially interested in #3. I was reading thru some old reviews and saw that someone had found the thermostat locked off in that unit and that some of the rooms became a little too warm. Someone else replied that the owners will give directions to the keys for the lockbox so that the thermostat can be lowered. Can anyone verify that is still the case? Sounds like the owners are wonderful to rent from but we would love to hear any other info anyone may have. TIA:)

We are staying in Storytime 1 later this week :cool1: I don't know anything about the thermostat but I have been pleased with my dealing with the owners. They always e-mail me back promptly with any questions I have. The houses look awesome and the kids are so excited about the Mickey room and the pool :)

We stayed in #4 in March- it was pretty cold during the time we were there so the house was a little bit too cold. Most importantly, the thermostats are locked so you cannot change them to adjust to the temperature. We could deal with the cold in the house- but if it was too warm, that would probably make it a little uncomfortable. You might want to ask the owners if maintenance could adjust the temperature if it gets too warm.

The townhouse is great, and they were incredibly easy to work with! I would stay with them again in a heartbeat- locked thermostats and all :)

I was just wondering if you asked the owners about getting access to the lockbox and what was their response? When I did a search on here about these particular rentals, that was one of the issues mentioned. But someone said that, if asked, the owners will provide access to the thermostat. Since we will be there in June, that is one thing I'd really like to verify before we book and pay a non-refundable deposit. We wouldn't keep it freezing cold or anything. But not being able to come back to a nice cool house would be a dealbreaker for us.

We stayed in Story Time 4 last June and loved it. We had no issues whatsoever. The AC was COLD! especially after coming in from the pool. We didn't even attempt to change it though, so I can't give you an information on whether you can change the thermostat or not. But, I can reassure you the AC was plenty cold for us.

This was our first off site stay and we were very pleased. WH is super convenient to the parks. The Story Time home we stayed in was super clean, well equipped, and very comfortable. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Might I suggest you call the owners regarding your thermostat concerns? Maybe you can set them to rest.

We stayed in number 4 and yes the thermostat was locked but just one call to the owner and we were provided with instructions on how to change temperature. The owner was very helpful.

we're looking to rent in nov..so im wondering this too...also i want the pool heated but not tooo hot...looking at #4 because of the end unit..any ideas can you heat the pool just a little? i have read its around 85' in nov and dont want pool 85' also...any problems??can i adjust it myself

Weird. We stayed in storytime #4 last year and the thermostat was not locked. It did have a sign saying not to lower it below a certain temperature. We would have been very upset if it was locked because it was late November when we stayed. Some days we needed the air conditioner, but we also had some very cool days when we used the heat. The temperature at that time can be all over the place. How could you know what you will need?

I have never stayed in any rental where you couldn't adjust temperatures, that would be a deal breaker for me.
