I'd love to try both Boma and Kona, but I have a DD who is allergic to peanuts and tree nuts. I remember a few years ago it seems like a lot of people had negative experiences at Boma with respect to allergies, but I haven't seen anything (good or bad) lately. I haven't heard much about Kona and allergies either.

If anyone would like to share their experiences at either of these places, I'd love to hear them. Thanks! :)

I have tree nut allergies and will be trying Kona for the first time on this upcoming trip. I plan on asking them to skip the bread for us altogether, because the butter has macadamia nuts in it. I'm planning on getting the fillet mignon with potatoes, which should be fine, but I'll ask to make sure. As usual, no dessert for me. :sad1:

I've never tried Boma. I tend to stick to the same places time after time. I can tell you, though, that WDW people are the most helpful I have ever met. I think over the years I have met just about every chef on property and have been inside quite a few of the kitchens. They really go out of their way to make sure they keep you safe.

When I made my ADR's it asked the CM to make a note about it on the ADR. They also gave me a phone number to call for more information about the food. I don't remember the number nor have I called it but I am tempted. His alleregy is not bad. if I get the number I will post it.

Kona (dinner) was great with my husband's peanut and other nut allergy a few weeks ago. The chef came out to the table to tell him what to avoid (also avoid the bread) entree wise. I was quite impressed as usually restaurants don't quite take it seriously. We had a great meal.

I just got back this week, and Boma was one of the restaurants we experienced while on our vacation. We also have peanut allergies (myself and my daughter). We told the server, and the chef came out and escorted us down the entire buffet (long!) telling us exactly what was in everything. I think there were only 3 or 4 things that we needed to avoid. I never dreamed that we'd be given the personal tour/ingredient breakdown, it was above and beyond my expectations. The chef and server were so, so pleasant. (and the food was GOOD!)

Haven't done Boma but Kona is great! DD has peanut and tree nut allergies ~ they will bring plain butter if you request. And the kids cone for dessert sans the choc candies.

Thank you for the replies!

It's great to hear that people with nut allergies have had good experiences at Kona and Boma. I think we will give them a try on our April trip. :goodvibes

We ate at both Boma and Kona this past April with dd12 who has other allergies in addition to peanut and treenut. Excellent chefs, service and food at both restaurants :)

That's great to know - thanks! I've made ADR's for both places for our April trip.
