Any recent experience with CRT and large parties (7)?

I called and they had plenty of availability for lunch, but said we'd have to be split into 2 tables. The CM actually said there are no tables at CRT which will fit our party together.

Anyone been lately with a group this size and were they able to get you 2 tables next to each other?

If we had 4 adults, I wouldn't mind splitting up. But we will have 3 adults and 4 kids (12, 9, 7, 3), so I don't think any of the adults would be thrilled with having to split up. If it was another restaurant, I'd take my chances, but with CRT's cancellation policies, I'm not sure if I should risk it.

We had seven in our group Valentines week and we were able to all sit at one table. They may have pushed two together but there was no issue whatsoever. We had 4 adults and three princesses.

We had to wait extra for a party of 6 and we had one table reserved. Personally I've found the service at CRT to be much less accomodating than other places and if you have 2 tables reserved I wouldn't count on getting to be together. At Le Cellier they would let us wait extra to get the 2 tables we had reserved together (we waited about 20 minutes longer than we would have) but I'm not sure if they even will do this at CRT as they always seemed so rushed and bothered there. With the older kids you could always do a kids table but it seems like a lot of money to not sit with your kids.....

We had NINE (6 adults and 3 kids) when we had Dinner at CRT back in August and we were all seated together-and very comfortably, I might add! They had simply put two large tables together for us. :upsidedow In fact, all nine of us were always seated together everywhere we ate! When we arrived at each restaurant, large tables had already been put together for us. Our fabulous dining experiences were a highlight of our trip! :upsidedow

This is going to be our third year with a big group. 17 in 2005, 21 in 2006, and 26 this year, so I have done a lot of booking for big groups. The general policy is that if you are eating at the beginning or end of the dining period, they will guarantee that your tables will be near each other. If you are eating in the middle of the dining perios, they make no guarantees. Because of this, we always eat early or late (usually early) and have never had a problem. We did CRT twice and both times we were right together.

We had a party of 10 and were told the same thing. They also already had tables pushed together for us when we arrived. BTW-I agree that the service isn't so great. I guess it depends on the server's mood and the day you go.

I called and spoke to another CM. They still had availability for lunch and had a couple of different times available. When I asked him if there was a particular time that would give us a better chance of getting two tables together, he said he would check the notes for that restaurant. After a couple minutes, he came back and said that they can do that in the first 20 minutes of the meal time. CRT opens for lunch at 12:00 and they had a 12:15, so I got it. He didn't say the word "guaranteed", but since he did have what seemed to be official information, rather than just a guess, I'm not too worried.
