We leave in 10 days for our upcoming Fantasy cruise and I am wondering what beaches anyone has been to recently post hurricane. We are stopping in St. Marteen and St. Thomas and would like to just take a cab or water taxi to the beach to spend the day. We have been to Orient Beach a few times but would like something different.
Do the beaches have bathrooms and restaurants open again?

We haven't done those 2 islands, but we were on the Southern Caribbean in January and did Antingua, and Martinique, which are very near those 2. They didn't get too badly damaged (nowhere near as much as Puerto Rico) and the beaches and islands were in fine shape.

In SXM it depends on the beach. Some of the resorts are inbad shape, so the nearby beaches have no practical amenities. A cab driver should know which beaches are practical.

In St. Thomas, Magen's Bay is fully operational.

We have a stop in St. Maarten next week as well. Seems a lot of the places on the beaches are still closed. From what I have read and/or seen on YouTube, Great Bay has chairs/umbrellas to rent and several of the places along the board walk are open and Holland House Hotel is offering a day pass. Simpson Bay - Karakter Beach Bar is open and has chairs/umbrellas. Maho - Sunset Beach Bar and Driftwood Bar are open. Mullet Bay has chairs/umbrellas for rent, a portapotty and someone selling drinks from a cooler. Grand Case - Rainbow Cafe is open and has chairs/umbrellas. Orient Beach - has chairs/umbrellas to rent and I think one beach bar at Club Orient is open but I can’t recall it’s name - Perch Lite maybe?

Hope you have a great cruise.

It is coming so fast!! I spent all weekend hemming pants and dresses and sewing and adjusting bathing suits for my kids. This weekend will be spent packing. UGH. Hope I get it all done. See you soon!
I am not ready at all. My daughter turned 2 yesterday so now that that is over I can now concentrate. of course work is now insane. :) But it snowed again here last night so bring on the sun.

We were on the Fantasy eastern a couple of weeks ago. On St. Maarten, we did an excursion that, in part, went to Mullet Beach. The chairs and umbrellas were there and ready to go. We weren't around long enough to need restrooms, food, or drinks, so I can't speak to that. We found the surf to be very rough at Mullet Beach, which made it hard for kids to be in the water. The surf was keeping the sand off the rocks just off shore, so more than half of my family came back with scrapes and bruises from waves tossing onto the rocks. Surf can vary by day and time, but we wouldn't go back there.

We didn't go to a beach in St. Thomas.
