We will be heading to Disney the last week of January (23-31). I was wondering if in anyone's experience there is a strong need to make my fastpass selection right at midnight or would 6:30 a.m. be just as acceptable for this time of year? Thank you.

I've never had any issues getting what we've wanted and I'm usually making those plans late morning on our FP+ day. I'd wait until morning!

The only really difficult ones are 7DMT and Anna & Elsa meet. Sometimes the parades and Wishes go fast too. Other than that you should have good availability on most anything else. For Epcot, remember that Soarin's is going on extended refurb so that may put a burden on Test Track, but I still doubt it will require midnight planning.

What about TSMM?

Yeah, TSMM may or may not have the ideal times left, but will still have plenty of availability.

If you want to meet Anna and Elsa, ride the 7 Dwarfs Mine Train, or are picky about what time you get to ride Toy Story Mania, then absolutely you want to stay up until midnight. Also, you will be going while Soarin is down, so that will make Test Track FP+ much harder to get as well. That may very well also be one that must be grabbed at midnight or it is gone until Soarin is back up and running. Outside of that, you should be fine in the morning. If you are looking for parades or fireworks type shows (Wishes, Illuminations, Fantasmic), sometimes those are gone by morning as well (but sometimes they aren't even in the system at 60 days out, so who knows).

I appreciate all the replies. We won't be trying for A & E but 7dmt and TSMM and Test Track we would like to get but no need for specific times. I'll take the advice and grab them in the morning. Thanks everyone.

Just remember that 7DMT was not one of the ones that can often wait until morning. Also remember that your window opens at midnight Eastern, so if you are west of that it could be a earlier for you.

probably not, but I'd be kicking myself if I didn't and then wasn't able to get what we wanted. Hopefully you are a more laid back person than I am!pirate:

I am going in January and waited until late morning and had my pick of times for mine train, test track, et:)

I only do it because I want to nab the Wishes FP. I love the show right before (Celebrate the Magic) and it can only be seen from the front of the castle. We travel during busy times though.....spring break, Xmas, etc.

You might not get anything for 7dmt if you wait til morning. at midnight I got only on my last day at the park

May be too late to make much difference, but our FP night was Mon. Looked at times just now, and 7dmt, TSMM, and Test Track on our days still have lots of times available 3 days later. If you can be somewhat flexible on time, I wouldn't fret over getting a good night sleep and waiting til morning.

So the wishes fast pass really is worth it? East or west hub? Thanks

Could you report on your success after? We go 1/30-2/7, and I am not a stay up til midnight kinda gal, but I am an up at 6:30ET gal. We don't want A&E and it's one of the least crowded weeks of the year and I know that the average guest is not making their plans at midnight, so...
