We are spending 6/22-6/28 in WDW, and I am anticipating long lines and hot weather.

I am very late to the party hearing about the opening of the new Harry Potter section in Universal by an add for the Today show doing a remote from there.

After reading a bit, I am seeing that many people are speculating that the new section might be opening next week, the same week we are at WDW.

Let's pretend for a second that we knew US was going to open the new section next week - do you think that would be enough of a draw to make much of a difference in the WDW crowds?

Doubt it. People might be traveling because of Harry potter and going to disney as well.

I doubt it as well. US has not made any official announcement, preventing people from planning on Diagon Alley being open. So, no, I don't think any Disney vacationers during that time have considered a side trip for that reason. Also, the opening day of Hogsmeade created a traffic nightmare in Orlando and lines of over 6 hours to enter the park. Who would want to go?

Yeah, US doesn't have one of the most technologically advance rides, themed to one of the biggest characters in pop culture history, that 40" tall kids can ride.

Sorry, my lil' dude is 37' so I didn't remember if it was 40 or 42, but I know I can pay $500+ for me, his Mom and I to have their version of FP, and between the two parks he can go on 7 rides, but Cat in The Hat freaks him out, so make it 3 rides over 2 parks.

Their version of FP is free with a Universal resort that are much better values than Disney resorts. and infinitely better than FP.

Very timid kids are definitely in DISNEYs wheelhouse, since Snow White and Toad are gone. And Alien Encounter. And Dinosaur was tamed down. And the non moving Space version.

Yeah my kid has had 3 skin grafts due to damage done to him from a neighbor's cat when he was 14 months old, but keep judging by calling him "very timid," awesome guy! He should have done some one armed push-ups, and ripped that cat's throat out with his bare teeth. So disappointed in him. :thumbsup2
