I brought home a baby rabbit from the school where I work (The school has a farm complete with a llama, pigs, chickens, rabbits, goats, etc.) Anyway, I don't know how old the baby is, I'd guess 10 or 12 weeks. At the school it would be caged at night and allowed to run free on the grounds during the day. The kids would use a net to catch it under the dumpster at the end of the day. I want to litter box train it. I've read not to use cat litter due to the dust and possible fragrance. Can I just use dirt in the litter box? If not, what can I use?

I always used sand for my bunny..................my bigger problem was how to keep it from chewing electrical cords........I still don't know how that bunny survived. From the state of my alarm clock cord, I'd've thought she'd be electrocuted!

I buy either Kritter Litter or Aspen from the pet supply store. Don't use Pine, it can give off fumes that can hurt the bunny.

Use newspaper or compressed sawdust pellets. There are a few organic cat litters that work fine for rabbits.
