Has anyone heard anything about whether PtN will be staying as a seasonal parade or if it will likely go to WDW?

I have yet to see the parade and I'm considering make a quick trip to DLR on Jan 7-8 to catch the parade before it ends its current run. The thing is, I've already gone twice in the last couple months. We did an expensive week long stay in October and then my dad and I went earlier this month (days before the parade started back up!).

If I think I can catch it this summer or next holiday season, I'll do the "responsible" thing and hold off. But if rumors are circulating that PtN will head over to the other coast, I think I gotta do it!!

Thoughts?

No new rumors as of yet, but Disney did officially state in one of the their blogs a while back that there were NOT any plans to send PTN to WDW.

Now things can always change, but they officially squashed that rumor as a reason for the regularly scheduled ending of PTN at DL.

Personally my hunch is once they get the technical problems and cast member injury issues resolved it will make an appearance again for the summer season.

They have said that "in early 2017" (I think!) that the Main Street Electrical Parade will be coming back for a limited engagement. That leads me to believe that PtN will be stopping for a while so that MSEP can run. However, they haven't said (at least that I have read) how long MSEP's "limited engagement" will be.

There is a larger PNT thread somewhere...but in a nutshell they were wanting to make improvements to some of the technology that was failing quicker than expected and some of the costume deigns were leading to work comp claims by cast members.

I really hope it comes back for a regular schedule. I got to go last year with my DH. I really want my kids to see it too, but I'm not sure when we'll get there. It seems like such an elaborate parade and popular. I couldn't understand why they would stop using it, but technical problems and injuries make sense. I hope they figure out the problems and bring it back for a long time.

If DL really wants to become the worldwide destination like WDW is, they'll play this parade every night of the week. But I'm guessing that they'll keep to the lame DL philosophy that only weekend guests matter.....even though the M-Th crowds are huge these days.

It's not a worldwide destination?

They don't act like it. You go to WDW, they have something special at each park, each night, all year long. AK is sketchy at times, but the other 3 parks are good 365. You go to DL Monday thru Thursday (during non-summer vacation months), you get the backside of Magic. They still cater to locals who show up Friday evenings and the weekends after all these years. It's why for 10 years I vacationed in Orlando...until I ran out of money to throw away on flights. You go there anytime of year and get the full Disney Magic experience every day you're there. You don't just get Fantasmic! during the summer and on weekends - it happens every day. You don't get Illuminations just during the Holiday weekends (hello, PtN) - you get it every day of the year.

If DCA can do WoC every night of the year, DL should be offering either PtN or F! every night of the year. I realize that WoC doesn't cost Disney a bunch of cash to play employees dancing around in costume, but I'm pretty sure a parade or nighttime show won't dent the daily take to awfully bad. They had PtN nightly during the 60th - I would hope it would stay that way indefinitely. I think it's time for Disneyland to stop thinking locally and begin catering to an audience that vacations there from out of town. Of course, this is coming from an out-of-towner.

I agree with this. I was so disappointed with the PtN schedule this holiday season. When they said it'd be coming back for the holiday season, I stupidly assumed it'd start when the official season started and that it's play every night. So I booked my trip for the 13-15th. And because Disney didn't release the PtN schedule until two weeks before my trip, I was very sad to see that not only was it only on the weekends but that it didn't even start the first weekend of the official holiday season!
