Any progress reports for DTD?

I haven't seen a lot of news about how progress was going at Disney Springs and was curious if things were looking better.

It's a progress that's for sure. We were there for dinner on Wednesday night and saw the progress.

The area is still under heavy construction, though stores are opening up little by little. A lot of walls up near the Planet Hollywood area attempting to block the new walkways and bridge that is going up in that section. Progress on Morimoto's is coming along as well. The old Adventurers Club building has been/is being demolished recently. The Hangar restaurant, next to The Boathouse is coming along nicely as well.

You can see pretty significant progress from the road, closer to the road driving in or passing by.

The Orange garage is entirely open and is cool. There is still a lot of traffic on the weekends and during dinner hours in that general area. Overall it is leaps and bounds better than say from Christmas time this year I can tell you that.

I imagine it looks a lot better to those who visited before the parking garage opened. But it's still heavily under construction and hard to get around. If you want to visit the Marketplace, the only place to park is down in the garage, which is a long way from the shops. Pack your patience if you decide to go.

100% correct.

However -- You can park in the surface lot at the Buena Vista Palace and walk across the street and be much closer to the Marketplace end of DTD. We do this all the time and it is a much shorter & easier walk to that end than it is from the garage side of DTD. You enter where the Disney transportation buses drop guests off actually.

While we are on the DTD subject, how are the buses to and from resorts? Delays?

I am considering making a couple of ADRs during my September trip this year here. Is that wise (will have a car) or will I be sorry having to walk a long way from the parking areas? I am not familiar with where anything is there! Considering Fulton's and Boathouse (different evenings).

We were in downtown last night and it was packed, I guess that's expected for a Friday night but I've never seen it that busy in nearly 15 WDW trips. There are a lot of bottlenecks although the new bridge from Rainforest to Lego shortened the return walk somewhat - the bridge is also the only place I noticed and "Disney Springs" branding. The buses were ok with good organization by the cast members, we waited about 15 minutes for a Pop bus at around 10pm. Definitely lots of new stores since our last visit, d-street is now more Star Wars than Vinylmation but I wasn't that impressed with the new superhero store. Also the huge Starbucks on the west side doesn't do orange mango smoothies even though the ones in the parks do...weird.
