Thinking about going to the Poly next year. Always stay at the BWV. I like the idea for the monorail for the MK, however, I was wondering if there are any problems with the buses going to AK and MGM. Thanks for your help.:)

I'd be interested to know this too, whether we should bus to MGM and AK from Poly or take our car. We leave in 7 days for Poly Concierge!

I heard confilcting reports about the Bus service lately. Does the Poly share with the GF?

We were at the Poly for dinner on our trip in May. We were staying at ASSp, but decided to go straight from dinner to PI. We waited 45 min for a bus before deciding that it was getting too late.

Well, we had to have a CM drive us over and change our PS at Breakfastasaurus because I kid you not 6 busses for MGM came in about 45min. and not one for AKL.

We just take our car to those parks from now on.

The Poly bus stop is an afterthought; it is really just the stairs down to the parking lot in front of the lobby.

I was at WDW last month (not staying at Polynesian) and noticed that the bus stops signs at the destinations have changed; there are separate stops for 1) the Polynesian and the Contemporary and 2) the Grand Floridian and the Wilderness Lodge. However, the one time I took a bus from the Contemporary to Downtown Disney, the bus stopped at both the Polynesian and the Grand Floridian.

I think it would be an improvement to have only two resorts on the route rather than three.

I usually do not have a car at WDW, but on the times I have rented one, I have wondered if WDW is in cahoots with the car rental people since they seem to be making the bus routes even more difficult to get anywhere (especially PI, which is the last place I want to take a car) within a decent time frame.

Once I sat around the GF bus stop waiting for the DD bus for so long that some guy in the group went over and rented one of those van taxis to take everybody at the bus stop to PI.

Even when we stayed there a few years ago the bus was not as quick as alot of others. In May we went to dinner there, waited 40 min for the bus to PI. Not one bus went by for MGM so not sure how to get there from the Poly. The bus did go to the GF before heading to PI.

The good thing about staying at the Poly is it gives you:
Monorail/Boat access to MK
Monorail access to Epcot through TTC
Bus stops at the Poly to AK / MGM / DTD & PI
Walk to the TTC to use those bus stops for all locations

You have a lot of access to transportation at the Poly.

You CAN use the TTC to get a bus to AK or MGM or the water parks.

You CANNOT use the TTC to get a bus to Downtown Disney/PI. This was discontinued last year.

I don't know if the buses to parks from TTC stop anywhere other than the TTC or the parks.

The only resorts that have a stop at TTC are the Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness (the last time I checked). As posted, you can walk to TTC from the Polynesian.

When we were there 2 weeks ago I have to tell you the bus service was hit or miss. We waited 45 minutes for a return bu s to the Poly from BB. Our friends missed the 7:30 bus to MGM for earlt entry and the next bus came at 8:15!!! 15 minutes after EE!!! It needs major improvement IMHO. I did not try to visit DD because I was afraid of the bus service running so behind.

Hello

We stayed at the Poly last Nov. for 1 week. I have to say, that I was very disappointed by the bus service. The monorail was great, but the bus service that I experienced was poor. We waited over 1/2 hour for buses to DD, AK and MGM. One night we waited 45 minutes for DD. I have only stayed at moderates before and I have to say that the bus service was much better at POR and at CSR (CSR was the best in terms of bus service). If I were to stay at the Poly again, I would rent a car for parks other than on the monorail. Just my experience.

Also, when we were there--we shared a bus with the CR (but that wasn't so bad--it was the waiting that was the worst part).

If the bus situation hasn't improved by mid-Aug, we will be going over to TTC to get buses to AK and MGM. It just seems easier than waiting around for 1/2 an hr. Have any of you done that?

I've never taken the busses from the TTC, but I would strongly reccommend it. The bus transportation from the Poly is definately hit or miss. I went last August and this was my experience: Bus to and from MGM: minimal wait. Bus to and from TL: moderate (15 minute) wait. Bus to PI: moderate wait, Bus FROM PI: TOOK FOREVER!! We watched as busses from every other resort picked up their guests 2 maybe even 3 times before the Poly bus came. Now I am a very patient person, and to tell you the truth at first I didn't mind waiting a little (gave me time to get off my feet and enjoy the nice, warm Florida air:smooth: ) But after about 45 minutes I remember thinking, "OK, this is not fair. The other resorts are on their third lap and no sign of the Poly bus...did they forget about me???" FINALLY it came. Whew! I thought I was going to have to walk:p To make matters worse, you get spoiled BIG TIME with the monorail. I guess it all evens itself out.
