Any positive toddler experiences from Snow White and other rides?

Some rides, we planned on just skipping this time...Snow White, Tough to be a bug, Dinosaur, Tower of Terror, Maelstrom...with our 4 and 1.5 yr old DDs, but I was wondering if anyone had positive experiences from any of these or other 'scarier' rides? I know every child is different, and as I said we weren't planning on these, but if my DD sees it and wants to go...well, then maybe we'll try it...at least with the 4 yo.

my 4 year old won't have anything to any of the ones you listed except for Tough to be a bug. She loves it! She won't do POC or Peter Pan because of the dark also.

My three year old daughter goes on everything that she can. She is very tall her for her age so that includes roller coasters too. She loves them all. I think it helps that she knows the stories and realizes that everything works out fine in the end... especially at Disney! We have gone every year since she was born and she has never skipped any of the rides or been scared yet. We go in early May and she is bugging me to go on ToT for the first time. We'll see...

Our 2 year old enjoyed all of the rides in Fantasyland. He also liked the Haunted Mansion and the Pirates of the Carribean. It helped that we have Disneys sing along video of Disneyland, so he knew that the Haunted Mansion was scary when we sang "Grim Grinning Ghosts" to him.
Our breakdowns were when I forced him to sit in the stroller and I refused to carry him, not from any attractions!

My 5 year old DS is good with Pirates, Dinosaur, Snow White but will have nothing to do with ITTBAB or Haunted Mansion. With ITTBAB he freaks when the bugs start "stinging" him from the back of the seat. With Haunted Mansion he loved it until the ghost rode with him, or in our case on him. He was in the middle and in the mirror it looked like his face was in the ghosts stomach. He absolutely lost it and doesn't even like walking past now.

Our 16 month old had no problem with POTC or Journey into Imagination. Snow White scared us...well, not the ride itself, but the line for the ride. :earseek:

You can hold the little ones nice and tight on so many of the rides, which really helps. Give it a go. Look at it this way, you're not likely to do permanent damage to the 1.5 yo by going on "scarier" rides. :rotfl: Of course, you don't want to make them fear every ride after one bad experience. Like you said, every kid is different. Go with your gut.

My DD is 1 1/2. She loves POTC, SW, really she hasn't been afraid of anything yet. Of course she is not tall enough for any really scary rides (TOT, SM, etc.)

I don't know if it is the timeframe between our trips, but our DD4 says she loves the Snow White ride, but in the next sentence says she thinks its scary. However, even though she says it is scary, she doesn't say she does not want to go on it. She was 3 the last time we went. She will be 4.5 the next time we go, so it will be interesting to see what her reaction is next time we ride it.

just a suggestion for Its tough to be a bug...sit your child in your lap so they don't feel the bugs.

My DD is EXACTLY like this. She loves many of the dark rides, but they are also scary for her too. I haven't tried any other 3D movies besides Philharmagic because she reacts so violently to that one (the puff of air does her in...)

Mine all loved these rides/attractions. You just have to "sell" them to the kids.

We used this for ITTBAB:
"This show is going to be soooo funny...bugs are going to hop out and try to surprise us....I am going to to be surprised....are you going to laugh and be surprised, too?"

We always try to tell them what to expect and try to make everything out to be funny or silly. They love them and dont understand why some of the kids yell or get upset.

We lived in FL when DSs were 0-4yo. Niether boy was ever spooked on HM, PP, or POC, but I STILL don't think they would voluntarily get on SW, and they are 5 & 7 now! Freaked both of them out as toodlers. 999 realistic-ish ghosts, not problem. One cheesy plastic-y witch, big trouble!

Took my twin girls for their 3rd bday. They rode everything they were tall enough for.

I more concerned about whose lap I'M going to sit on!!!!

We just got back from Disney last week. My 3 kids (9, 7, 4) are open to try new things but not adventurous in the least! They did not think Snow White was scary at all, took them on Tower of Terror and they were ok, but all were not pleased with Tough to be a Bug. Even my 9 year old son who rode the roller coasters 5 times in a row was scared of that one. We also did not take our 4 and 7 year old on Dinosaur since we heard that one was scary.

My DS hides his eyes for the scary parts and I let him know when it's over. He loves the bugs and will even ride Dinosaur but that wicked witch on SW scares him everytime.

We found it helped to give DD2 something to do when she was feeling uneasy. If you hear someone yelling, "Go Away BAD LADY" we just might be on the ride with you. :rotfl:

My 2 yr old loved Snow White ride but she loves Snow White the character. She rode HM 5 times. She was a little frightened by it but I covered her eyes. She still takes about HM.
