Any point and shoot cameras good for dark rides?

On our first trip to Disney, we only used our cellphones. The quality was a mix of bad to terrible. I love dark rides, and I would love to have a good camera for stills and videos of them. My budget is around $300-$400(would prefer to stay closer to $300). Is this doable or do I need to spend more? I would also like to stay fairly lightweight.

Don’t take pictures on dark rides if you can not turn off the flash. If you google this topic, many articles with camera recommendations appear.

Pictures on dark rides without a flash are going to be challenging for a point and shoot camera outside of the very bright scenes. Some may have a bit more luck with video. You may have to pick either stills or video to fit your budget for equipment unless you’re able to find a great deal. One avenue you may consider is a reputable camera store that sells refurbished equipment if you have one in the area. You might be able to make your budget stretch a bit further to get something that will work for you.
