My husband is almost in on the DVC but he is wondering if we should wait until we go on our cruise next month before we buy to see if there are any additional perks???
It depends...do you want AKV? I don't know if it has been confirmed, but the AKV incentives are supposed to end in a few days. You may risk losing these incentives if you wait. I will say that while on two cruises, there were DVC incentives...wish I could remember what those incentives were...I wasn't interested in DVC at that time.
If I remember correctly they usually have whatever incentives are being offered at the time plus some onboard credit. The incentives have always sounded pretty good to us and have always tempted us to add on while on the cruise. We have been good w/points for a while now though. Who knows in the future
We did a 7 day Mexican Riviera cruise this past August and bought AKV on board. The incentives we got were: $8 discount per point, 1 for 1 developer points (must be used within 12 months unless used to book a cruise, then 24 months), $500 shipboard credit per 160 point contract up to $1000 (we bought 360 so we got $1000), and DVC paid all closing costs above $300.
The $500 onboard credit along with the other AKV perks mentioned above were also being offered when we cruised earlier this month. Also, anyone who attended the onboard DVC presentation was entered into a drawing for a $300 onboard credit.
