Any party of 2 willing to swap times for Boma Ressie on 9/19??

PLEASE!!! Help me!

In trying to be the great girlfriend, I kinda screwed up. I have managed to join us in on a Wishes cruise on 9/19 (that is a complete surprise to DBF) that departs the Poly at 7:30pm SHARP. Only problem is, we have an ADR at Boma at 6pm. Why 6pm? I have NO idea!!! We made our ressies at 180 days out and had our choice of times. Every other ressie we have is between 4:30 and 5pm. Just so happens, Boma is the ONE place DBF wants to go to, BADLY! Incidentally, we have a car so we would definitely be driving from Boma to the Poly. Some here say I should be fine to make it, but I want to make sure I have a little cushion. Even if it's a 5:45 ressie, that would certainly help.

I have called dining over and over, and Boma is completely booked on 9/19, so I thought I would reach out to my fellow DISers to see if, by chance, anyone who is a party of 2 (since that's what we are) might have a ressie between 4:30pm and 5:30pm that they would like to swap for a 6PM. We could call dining on a 3-way call I assume, to make sure this happens correctly, but I have even tried getting in on other days that we are there and there is just nothing. This seems to be my only glimmer of hope, unless someone cancels.

Don't have a ressie, but....I bet if you show up at say 5pm they will get you in early Good Luck!

Just to add....we showed up at Narcoossee's at opening last trip (2 hours b4 ressie) and they got us right in.

I've gone to Bomas a few times without a reservation and was always able to walk in at 5 when they opened.

I'd bet if you got there and explained things they'd have no problem bumping you up even if they weren't taking walk-ins.

But either way, it's a buffet so if you're eating by 6 you should be able to make it to the Poly at 7:30.

Oh, I really hope so! I actually found a number and called Boma directly. I spoke with a hostess there and explained the situation. She told me that they open at 4:30 that day, so to come to the hostess stand at 4:15 or 4:20 and tell them we have a 6pm ressie, but we want to eat earlier and she said they should be able to get us in within a few minutes.

Keeping my fingers crossed that this works! If this is true, I won't have to worry about explaining to DBF why we're driving to AK that day instead of taking the bus. If we get in at 4:30 or shortly thereafter, we should have no problem taking the bus to get to the Poly by 7:30, you think?

I'm sure they will get you in right away if you are there by 4:15. I'd still take the car** because then you won't have a minute's worry about when you arrive at the Poly...you can explore AKL, leave by 6:45, drive to the Poly and tell DBF you want to walk hand in hand on the beach, then when the time is right, head over to the dock. Lol...what a wonderful romantic surprise you are making for him!

**Lol...tell DBF that you heard that they might be letting guests with cars drive through a new scenic Animal Kingdom area near the new villas they are building out there...and you want to take the car in case this is true. What??? You never told a little white lie before???? Lol

That's a GREAT story! It just might work! Yea, trying to figure out how to explain why we're driving... other than, well AK is only about a 1/2 day park for us anyway, so maybe we want to drive over to the lodge and explore or do something else before our ADR...

Ok, so another question - where in the heck is the dock at the Poly in relation to where you come in?
