We did this for my husband last fall. In our state, at our pers website you can do an online estimate to give you a general idea of what it would cost. If you decide to move forward you have to request an official exact amount. In our state the max you can purchase is 5 years. Also, we were able to transfer money from other retirement accounts (IRA, 457), so we had very little out of pocket cost.
