Any Other Toronto Area Les Miserables Fans?

I wonder if they have forgotten how popular it is in Toronto. I think it may have been the second longest running musical in Toronto behind Phantom which ran for 10 years 10 months and 10 days. For anyone that is a phantom fan you can still see the logo an the phrase "now it it's tenth Pahn-tastic year" on the side of the Ed Mirvish there if you're on the Victoria street side (back side with the gas lamps) and look between it and the tower beside it.

Yeah, it could have run indefinitely...years! But with Ramin leaving for Broadway in March I am assuming the Feb. date will really be it. Sure it could go on with a new Valjean, but from what I read (if true) Broadway is even taking parts of our set so I don't think so!

Maybe the next revival will stay longer! One with the classic staging and revolving barricade etc. Apparently that version is still playing in London, maybe we could get version back.

WOWWWWWW!!!! Saw it on Friday and what a show. My DH said it is the best show he has been too, even better than Phantom with Paul Stanley(big Kiss fan). It was like watching the movie over again but better:thumbsup2

Looking at surprising my daughter with tickets for Christmas. I am just looking at their seating chart and wondering how the $45 tickets would be in regards to view. It says they are balcony H-J Center. Would these be ok or am I better off spending more(which I would prefer not to do and save the money to add dinner to the night).

You'll be fine with those there really isn'ta bad seat in the princess of wales other than the boxes but they are covered by part of the set for Les Mis.

So jealous.

I live close and walk by all the time.

Just walked by the crowds going in tonight and thought of this thread. :goodvibes

Enjoy everyone.

Do you think that's true of front row / centre? I am so happy I got those seats but another friend is telling me that those seats actually suck, and you want to be about 3-5 rows back. I mean, I'll survive lol, just wondering your view?

I would say that depends on where in the theatre you are if your on the orchestra level you may be looking up a lot at the stage and may be somewhat obstructed by the conductor. That being said the first time I saw Les Mis was in the third row of the Royal Alex, and the view from there was amazing.

Can anyone recommend a restaurant close to the theater to take my DD14 for pre-show dinner. She loves all kinds of food and will eat Indian to sushi. Something reasonably priced in the $25 per person range would be ideal.

You could try Il Fornello http://www.ilfornello.com/entdist.html it's just at the other end of the block, acroos the street from roy thompson hall. A good tip to remember is whatever restaurant you go to let them know you are going to a show. Also Les Mis starts at 7:30pm so plan on an eraly dinner.
