We just got back from our second trip to Silverwood. Pretty sure we will be making it a annual Summer thing now.

We love:

Both wood coasters - Both better than BTM. Great coasters for their size and make.

The raft ride - much better than Kali at WDW, but not quite a good as GRR at DCA.

The new magic show is quite good.

Not so much:

The food - basically sucks. Good thing there is lots of options in Hayden.

The hours - barely open eight hours on weekdays.

We went last year. We enjoyed the theme park and loved the water park. We had never been to a water park before.

I use to love Silverwood. I haven't been there in years so I am sure it has changed but it was always a fond memory for me going there when we would visit a friend who lived in Courdelaine (sp) ID. I went on my first corkscrew rollercoaster there.

I forgot the waterpark in my OP. We really like the tube slides, just as good as the ones in Blizzard Beach and much better than Wild Waves. The rest of the waterpark area is also much better than Wild Waves, and oddly enough, less money. :cool1:

We have talked about going, but have not made it over there yet! Sounds like it is alot of fun!

I love it so much, I have season passes for my entire family! Last year we went at least once a week. This year however, we have so many other activities planned, that we have only gone a few times. I love it there and so do my children. I will agree that the food is NOT great. We usually bring stuff from home. The water park is great! Gotta love that lazy river! :thumbsup2

FYI: Costco sells both day passes and season passes at a much cheaper price than the gate price.

We need to head back over there this summer. The kids earn day passes through school for reading and they have earned them the past three summers. Nothing of course compares to Disney but it's good.

Wow, I couldn't believe I read "Sliverwood". We loved taking our kids to it when we visited a friend in Coeur d Alene. We were just talking about it.

Those are great, but if you go two days (like we juist did) the two day passes are even a better deal.

Wanted to make sure people get the best price. Two day passes are cheaper that two one day passes through Costco.

I agree with that. I guess I am not thinking of those who go to vacation in the CDA area. I just get to drive there and drive home each time. You are very correct. For longer visits, again, go the Costco route though. 87.99 (tax incl) for a season pass. Can't beat that!

I feel bad that we have lived in Boise for 15 years, and never made it there ! (in that same period of time we have made 8 WDW trips and 7 DLR trips)

I guess that I just picture long lines and lots of teens.....like going to Magic Mountain when i was in High School.

So, what is it really like ? Any tips or tricks ?

PS, I may also put a link to this thread on our new CA and the West board.

I've never seen the season passes there. That is a steal. :cheer2: Maybe next year we will go twice.

Since this is still the NW, my suggestion would be to do the coasters in the morning and wait to do the waterpark until later in the afternoon. Otherwise it's too chilly for the water and the coaster lines can get long in the afternoon. The only downside to their coasters IMO is that each only has one train.

The other drawback is that many of the flat rides (ferris wheel, tilt o'whirl, etc) are slow to load so even what looks like a short line can take a good 15 minutes to wait and get loaded. Once again, if one of those is important to you, ride it in the morning when lines are short.

Another great time to do the coasters is in the evening. My neice and I ran back to the back of the park to do both of the coasters again and did it in less than a half hour.

***hangs head in shame***

I lived in CDA, my mom still lives there, we go to visit every couple of months and I have never been to Silverwood  :faint:

Seems like between visiting family and taking care of business there is never enough time to go :(

Oh well one day. Its a great park though :)

Hi Judy! :wave2:

Hi ya Binny :), we really need to get together (especially since my parents want to do an Alaska cruise this year ;0 )

I too have family in CDA.....which makes it all more shamefull.

Is anyone in WA monitoring the news about the Wolf Creek lodge being built there ? For some reason I am excited about that, and all ready planning a winter break trip tradition!

Didn't even know about it until your post. They couldn't have picked a worse location. That area may have cheap land, but there's a reason it's cheap. Wonder how it will effect business when people leave the lodge and see how run down the rest of that area has become.
