I'm planning to become an English teacher someday? Does anyone else share the dream of morphing the minds of tomorrow?

For me, the pay isn't important. It's the oppurtunity to help the future minds of this country. :)

I am going to become an English Teacher for Secondary education (particulary grades 9-12) with a Master's degree. Then I might consider (further down the road) earning a Doctorate's degree and teaching in higher education (college level).

Its not about the money.

Actually if you teach for a few years and take classes A, B, and C, you can make upwards of $80,000 a year.

College sounds too difficult to teach in my opinion, I chose Junior High because they still have a will to learn and they are normally the group that are looked down upon in society...:sad2:

The thing about college though is the people actually want to be there in most cases.

I couldn't teach junior high.

I dislike children. I'd have to teach highschool or college. I plan to teach highschool history until I can tenyer and secure an art job. While getting my PHD from an artschool, which would certify me to teach at a university.

I would hope those in college are motivated...heck they sure are paying for it and plus, college is a strongly recommended option...not a requirement *I defer to the obvious with that statement*.

I'd teach JH because I like kids, but I couldn't be an elementary teacher, I would end up with fewer kids by the end of the day... :rolleyes1

My first plan is to go into forensics.

I had a thought this afternoon.

Maybe, if my first plan fails, I can be a chemistry teacher.

A few months ago, I took this ... what's the word I'm looking for ... test on www.careerlaunch.net . The jobs reccomended for me all involve teaching something of somesort. I honestly have no paitence to teach someone anything, but, I think, if I try, I can outgrow that.

Aww Brain!! :rotfl:

I have no patience for the kids who think that they are in charge. Around 5 - 6 grade kids start thinking that they are in charge and it's their classroom.

Do you think it's my fault that the eraser my 6th grade language arts teacher used made it so much fun to erase the blackboard?

Okay. I guess you can say I dominated that one class. Because of an eraser.

Once I ran up to the blackboard and changed one of the nouns my teacher wrote when we were learning prepositions.

Then I got eveyone obsessed with erasers.

Kdone.

But technically it is! You're just there to moderate them and perhaps teach them a thing or two while you're at it... ;)
