So far, so good. But we are suppose to really be nailed in this area almost an hour.
No power outage yet. We have had flickering, and a few times it shut the TV off. That was it so far. Hope it keeps up!!
I feel thankful we have maintained power this long.
We are all boarded up and hunkering away! ;)
I could not believe it when I saw our newspaper was delivered this morning!

How is everyone else doing so far?

good luck - hope the damage is minimal

how far are you from Bearfoot Bay?

Was hoping someone would start a thread of this nature this morning..

Glad to hear things are stable in your area right now.. Stay safe and check in when you can..

Prayers to all in Florida are ongoing..

Never heard of Bearfoot Bay. But just moved to this area thsi year.
We are approx 10 miles west of downtown Orlando.

I'm afraid to say it for fear of jinxing things - but so far, so good. Periods of very heavy winds and rain - but right now the sky is blue and it's beautiful out. We are supposed to get really hit about 3PM. I so hope we don't lose power. It was awful during Charley - 97 degrees and no air conditioning.

We have missed the worst of the storm and thankfully we still have power. Our streets are a mess with leaves, branches, etc but no major damage that we can see. It is still VERY windy and rainy though.

Prayers for those of you still in its path.

Continued good wishes and prayers for all affected. Hope the relatively good news continues, flooding is low.

We woke this morning (well we woke a LOT over night) with power. It is raining and there are frequent gusts, but nothing looks very bad so far.

I woke a couple times over night to see the news highlighting several feeder bands with probable tornados. Those were mostly to the north.

Fingers crossed. I'd really like to keep my power. But, we lose power several times a week from the afternoon thunderstorms...

Glad to hear people are still ok and in good spirits.

Ted

Prayers and pixie dust to all of you as well - you are in our thoughts - please stay safe!!!

So glad to hear things aren't as bad as first feared. Best wishes going out to everyone in the path of the storm. Stay safe!

No mail on Friday but we got the Sunday paper this morning....

It's been a looong rain storm but there is no damage here, Thank god!

Ted and Holly - I know where you are! We are lucking out through this - but I feel real bad for the coast - they got hammered!

Doing fine on the west coast...south of Tampa. It's kind of windy(not bad) and kind of rainy(light rain/drizzle) but nothing to speak of. We'll see if it increases today or if this is it.

Barefoot Bay is near Sebastian, if I'm not mistaken, right on the Indian river so I'd be a bit concerned about it after seeing pictures and reports from Ft. Pierce and Melbourne.

We're in Marathon and have had steady 40-50 mph since 4am...Nothing really. My parents are with us and I picked them up from Vero Beach on Thursday night (which was a good thing).

This is going to be a terrible cosmetic storm, with few deaths and or injuries, only moderate damage (in the scheme of things, but it is NEVER moderate if it's your property that is destroyed) but with huge clean up ramifications.

Lastly, I pray you folks in Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte are faring well. This is very cruel to you folks especially.

Thanks for keeping us updated. I've vacationed in the Vero/Ft. Pierce area for many years and it's such a beautiful area. Prayers to all of you in Florida.

I'm glad to hear that you're faring okay so far! Continued good thoughts and prayers that continues.

Please stay safe!

Kim :)

Lotsa' rain & gusty wind (30-50 mph) up here. No significant power outages.

But the REAL tragedy is that the TV CABLE IS OUT!!!!!!!!

Everyone hold tight & be safe.

Some gusty winds and a little rain. Power was out this morning, thankfully it is back on now. It went out just as I turned on the coffeepot. Just basically playing the waiting game for now.

So far so good up in Altamonte, about 7 miles north of downtown Orlando. We are getting alot of rain this morning and alot of wind. The power has gone off a few times but came right back, keeping my fingers crossed that we keep it on. I don't think I have seen this much rain coming down before, it's none stop.

I did save a lizard though, well I might of put him in harms way. I brought the grill inside last night and this morning my cat caught a lizard. I forgot to bounce the grill a few times to make sure it was clear of hitchhiker's. Well the little lizard got a free ride in and the cat busted him this morning. Luckuly DD saw it and we were able to capture him, but then I let him outside:( I hope he found a safe place to hide.

Doing good here. Power has gone off and on but I haven't lost if for more than a few minutes. Still have wind and rain but nothing too bad. According to the news, my city supposedly has a lot of damage but I can't see any from my apartment complex.

Further south in Miami, things are opening up again. They have called off their evac notice and malls are announcing they will be opening at noon today. Miami airport is open but it seems as if not many flights are flying.

Ft. Lauderdale airport is still closed but the airlines are calling in employees so it might open later today.

Cable has blinked out a few times.
DH had to go out back :earseek: and screw in the plywood over the slider even more. Even with cement screws already in, a corner was being torn out, and working towards the center.
He screwed in even longer screws and it seems very stable (again).
Without the plywood the slider and a large side window would be gone.
We are being hit very hard in the back of our house.
