Me (46) and DS (17) are staying at Disney (ASSp) from December 17-25, with two days (18 & 20) at US/IOA. I know it will be a crazy busy time of year, but we are Disney vets and used to the crowds, so we plan on just rolling with it. I think we are going to use Uber or Lyft to get to Universal and back on both days. We have done a list of must eat, must see, must ride, must buy and we'll get done what we get done. I can't handle much motion simulation, so I may walk the queue with him and sit out some stuff (like Simpsons and FJ). At Disney I can do pretty much everything except for the tea cups and Star Tours. Haven't tried RnR yet... So I think I should be good to get my money's worth out of two days of park-to-park tickets.

Of course, the big draw for us is the WWOHP. We just read all the books and watched all the movies... We're late bloomers!

You're going to love Harry Potter! I spent nearly an entire day there last time I went... That was actually the only reason I went. I could have spent the entire day if I didn't feel bad for making my mom and sister follow me around all day.... :)

My family is going to Disney and Universal for the first time this December from Dec. 16 - 26. We've never been to Florida before and we're excited. Our Universal days will be Dec. 19 and 20. We're really huge Potter fans too. =)

Prepare for crowds. The two weeks of Christmas and New Years are easily the busiest two weeks of the year.

Ooh fun! We'll ''see'' you there then! :-)

I am worried about the crowds. I just hope with all the planning I've been doing that we'll get to see something. I've never been so excited and nervous about something. Planning a trip like this is scary. :scared:

Lol! See ya there! :)

We're not going this December, but your post reminded me of a trip when I was a first timer in December (technically a 2nd timer, but the first time was a 2 hour RUN though the main attractions at the Studios). I had a wonderful day there on December 23, 2010. It was as crowded as could be - HP was still new, and they were giving return times to get into that area. We had 45 minute wait to get INTO Hogsmeade (after arriving at our return time) and a 90 minute wait to ride Forbidden Journey. Crowds started dying down in the evening, and we were able to ride several more times.

Despite the insane circumstances, the park had extended hours that allowed us to do everything we wanted to do, even with the wait for the Harry Potter stuff. We were EXHAUSTED by the end of the day - the tiredest I ever remember being after a day at a park and the only time DD (8 at the time) ever begged to be carried from a park. With HP in both parks, it will be much more manageable now than it was then! I'm a little jealous - that was one of my favorite days ever.

We were there that day as well!!

We were staying onsite and with the express pass the rest of the park was very manageable, but Hogsmeade was insane. More crowded than Main Street MK on Christmas Day!! It's was like a mosh pit at a rock concert!!

Going for our first visit the week of Christmas. Staying on site so hope the express pass will save enough time that Harry Potter rides/section can be done.
