Any other fans of Ramada Maingate?

I'd love to hear about gas re-inbursement. Anyone care to explain how this works please? We'll be staying at the GCH for two nights, but will be arriving late at night, so I need to book a good neighbor hotel for our first night. :thumbsup2

Ask them, they'll explain the gas reimbursement, if they still offer it.

I am fairly sure they are not a Good Neighbor hotel. That said, I could care less, as GN is just a marketing partnership -- it does NOT imply higher quality, from what I can tell, certainly there are some GN hotels that I'd never stay in, and I like Ramada Maingate quite a bit and couldn't give two hoots that it's not GN.

(GN = $$ go to Disney = more expensive hotel without any better amenities, IMHO.)

We have used the gas disbursement program many times and it's great. Just bring in your latest gas receipt and they will credit it to your account up to a certain dollar amount. I forgot what it was, maybe $60.

We've stayed here twice so far this year and have our third and fourth stays booked for nov and dec! Love it. So close to the parks, free parking and breakfast, wonderful staff (Jessica is the best!) its our new favorite place!

Does anyone have any details about their construction plans? I haven't read much on it and wondering if it is worth staying there this winter or if construction is going to inconvenience us and we will wish we had booked elsewhere. I always consider this hotel but then stick with my safe and reliable hojo lol. Their regular prices are getting quite high tho.

We have never stayed here before but I book a room for an end of December trip. I also book a room at the Fairfield and was trying to decide where to stay. Tuesday evening sealed the decission. I got a call from the Ramada asking if we had reservations for the end of November and the end of December. It did not seem right to her. We did not but the reservations were under the exact same name - not one that is popular. She was worried that there was some kind of fraud :scared1:. With everything that is going on in our lives, it would not be suprising. After talking to 3 people at the travel company and being transfered to the 4th who could actually help me, it turns out it was not fraud but a strange coincident.

The Ramada definately has earned our business for looking out for us and helping as much as they can. Looking forward to our stay at the end of December.

I have a favour to ask of those staying here in Nov & early Dec...

Can you pls post what the noise levels are like from the construction?

We're meant to be staying there for 5 nights from 8 Dec, arriving from Aus, so are going to need afternoon naps to help with the adjustment in time zones. I'm just a bit worried that the noise through the day will mean we won't be able to get to sleep in the afternoon. I'm wondering if I should make a 'back-up' booking at another hotel just in case? The Tropicana seems to be close as well but not sure if it'll be far enough away to be any quieter. Opinions anyone?

And thanks in advance to anyone who lets me know how bad the construction noise is :thumbsup2

Great to hear this. Were going Nov. 22-25 and are staying at the Ramado Inn because our other choices were already booked at the time we booked our trip. Getting REALLY excited to go!!!!! We did Best Western Stovell Inn last time and walked to the park everyday. That walk was waaaay longer then we thought it would be so were looking for a much shorter walk this time.
