Allison - :grouphug: I really hope the doctor can give you something on Friday to help with the insulin resistance so you can get things moving.

Sue - Glad things went well!

Fan of Disney - Good luck with everything. I am with you on the age difference thing but I still am trying. I believe everything happens for a reason and hopefully we will have another child when the time is right. My niece and nephew are 6 years apart and they are great friends. DH is 9 years older than his sister and they are closer than he is to his brother who is 13 months older than him.

That's wonderful to hear! DS just turned 4 in July and originally I said I didn't want kids more than 5 years apart. Of course, now that that "deadline" is quickly approaching, I've begun to change my mind! I know even having another baby does not mean that the kids will get along and be close, so I guess the age gap doesn't make that much of a difference. A friend of mine is about 10 years older than her brother and they are so close..she really looks out for him.

I feel so far behind... I have just been busy with church stuff lately. We get rather swamped when the college students go back. Luis also turns 30 tomorrow so I've been dealing with that as well. But I've been reading a lot!!!

Kristy, I hope IVF#3 works well for you. Third time's the charm ;)

Carla, sorry you've been so busy with all those appts like that. I bet it has to be a good thing that you don't have to worry about how much time you would be taking off of work for that. Hope the PT helps.

Tasha, I hope the OPKs helped everything to work for you this month!

Momsully, I totally understand. We had planned to go to WDW in May... guess why we didn't go

Beth, I am so glad that the surgery went so well for you!!!!!!

Kelly  I seriously know how painful that first period is. Ugh, I have it bad, but never as bad as it was the first cycle after my miscarriage. Fortunatley my friend warned me... and even better the next period after was relatively normal ::yes::

Jen that is such a cute pic in your sig!

Rebecca, good luck with all the work at home. I do hope that the NT scan results are good! I admit I didn't do that one myself.

Bethany  I can understand how hard that is to decide that you are done. We have a strong feeling that this will be it for us... I always wanted two, but long story, we might be done with one and that's it.

Allison  Trust me, I know how hard it is... I really do. I have some tough advice for you if you want. And who knows... it could be that your DS knows more than you... little kids seem to know about pregnancies and when theya re going to happen more than the adults ;)

As for the name issue here... I am still holding firm to my name I want. Luis is looking at others and to be fair, I will listen to any name he gives me. I won't automatically shoot it down just because I have a name in my mind. I'll just be happy once we decide.

hi

I know this may be an odd question, but whats the weight gain average in the first three months of pregnancy, you see we want to start trying mid to end october but we get married jan 28th, and know theres no way of guessing when I would "catch on" but I would like to still fit in my dress lol.

At present I wish we could try but I don't seem to be receiving my monthly visit. infact I havnt since I came off the injection 6 months ago and I am starting to worry

its very different to get to see specific doctors over here, I jut get to see my normal doc whos says it will come back when it wants to

Mush, about 4-6 pounds in the first trimester. After that they claim about a pound a week. This is for someone who is more or less the correct weight pre-pregnancy. I lost some a nd then gained it back all in the first 4 months (for a total gain of 4 pounds then). Right now I am kind of stagnant with my gain but I started working out a bit more and finding better foods so I think that has something to do with it. I started out just a couple pounds over weight and this is more of just toning up my legs again for me :)

If you are overweight, the gain they tell you will be different. same with underweight.

Hi ladies....
Same old crap going on with me...but......
I finally get to do the single digit dance! :cool1:  WOOHOO!
In other news...this is the second month in a row where the OPKs turned purple, but I didn't ovulate. I'm getting worried. This wasn't even my problem to begin with, it was only the fact that I was having miscarriages... Now I'm infertile too?!?! grrrrr
I don't understand.
Oh and the Dostinex made my prolactin go down to 1.0!!! it was at 60!!!! So she RN said it's now too low and I'll have to cut the dose in half. Let;s see what happens. I'm getting scared since I know that after this Disney trip, it's time to try again and I'm just scared of losing another :(

Hi girls! :)

I've been away from this thread for awhile - it's been a hectic few months. We put our house on the market back in March, sold it in May & had the deal fall thru a couple weeks before closing. Didn't have much activity for the next couple months & then accepted another offer on July 4th. We found out days later that the buyer couldn't get approved on her own since she worked under the table and had no proof of income.

A week and a half later, we're contacted & told that the same buyers still wanted the house and the boyfriend was approved instead of the original buyer. So, we now had two weeks to get our entire house boxed up & get moved into the house we had bought in the meantime. We then get a phone call the day our buyer is supposed to go in & sign all the paperwork that he isn't signing. LONG story short...his lender changed the terms of the original agreement & wanted more money down, etc basically killing our deal altogether. So, the day before we were supposed to move out, with everything I own boxed up & in my garage, we have to cancel our home purchase since our sale fell through. :sad2:

So, to drown our sorrows, we ended up back down at WDW Aug 26 - Sept 5 to get away from it all for awhile. :thumbsup2 We have taken our house off the market for this year & will reevaluate next year. We just really needed a break from it all - it's way too much stress to deal with.

On our TTC note, I've been a bit down lately about the whole thing...the end of this month marks a year since we started this process. I went to see an RE in June & he got me on Progesterone suppositories that have really helped my LP - went up to 15 days from 8 or 9 before. It also cleared up a lot of my spotting. I was really hopeful that our trip would bring us back a souvenir - timing was perfect, but AF arrived in full force yesterday am.

I spoke with my RE again yesterday & I'm now scheduled for an HSG a week from tomorrow to see if there's something else going on. I'm a bit nervous about it, but also happy that he's moving forward with something at this point. He's also talked about trying Clomid. It looks like I am O'g each month, but it's a tad late & I'm having spotting for days before I O. Does anyone have experience with that? Any words of wisdom for the HSG? :)

Hi, everyone! It has been busy at work, and I have not had as much time to write!

DH and I are going away for the weekend without our kids to celebrate our 15th anniversary, which was in June. We are REALLY looking forward to it, and I really need it, since I have had very little patience lately, and I can't seem to remember anything.

Emily - If I am remembering correctly, you had a miscarriage earlier in the year, right? Did you have a D&C? I had an ectopic, and a D&C, and when they did the HSG, they found some scar tissue which was probably from the D&C. They did a hysteroscopy to take care of it. Maybe that is part of your problem.

My recommendation for the HSG is to ask your doctor about taking some ibuprofen shortly before the procedure to help with the cramping. I had pretty bad cramping afterwards, and I wasn't even able to drive myself home. Other people don't react that way, but be prepared with someone to take you home, just in case.

Good luck to everyone!

Denae

Hi Denae - Happy Belated Anniversary - enjoy your weekend with DH!! :thumbsup2

Yep, I conceived my first cycle off BCP in Oct '06, then miscarried & had a D&C Dec 22nd. My concern has also been scar tissue, but my regular OBGYN blew me off for months...

They definitely recommended ibuprofen before the procedure & I'm also getting an antibiotic to take before & after to help ward off any infection from the procedure. Did your cramping last long afterwards? They want to schedule it for lunchtime next Friday & I was planning on going back to work, is that not a good idea? Maybe I can ask for a later appt... Thanks so much for all the info. :goodvibes

Emily, good luck with everything. I worried about scar tissue too, but fortunately had no symptoms of scar tissue to even ask about it. I think it is good that they are going to check you out for that since you are worried. Totally not related... are you or your DH Ohio State fans? That jersery your DH (I assume) is in looks exactly like the ones they had a year ago.

Denae, enjoy your weekend away :)

Dznylvr, good luck with the drug changes yourself. Are they monitoring you for ovulation? Just curious how you know you aren't ovulating even with OPKs.

Emily Welcome back!!! When I had my HSG I took 800mg of Ibprofen about 45minutes prior to the procedure. I had no cramping or spotting (except for the iodine and that was not much). Can you decided after the procedure whether or not to go back to work? I hope everything works out for you :goodvibes

Denae: I hope you have a wonderful weekend with you hubby!!!!

Like Elaine said, it can be different depending on your weight to begin with. I haven't gained anything, but I'm only suppose to gain a total of 15 pounds. I think it helps that I mainly drink water. I used to drink a TON of tea, so cutting out that sugar helped keep the weight down.

My mom didn't gain at all either (though she was tiny to begin with). She was very sick with all of use and the little weight she gained, she started losing in the last few weeks.

If you are worried about gaining too much, I would cut out junk food and exercise (even if it's just walking). You should discuss with your doctor though. Good luck!

Well, I just came back from 6 wonderful days in WDW. I really needed a break from life here, it was a nice recharge!!!! My son had a great time, his favorite was Goofy's Barnstormer.

I did get a call right before I left last week that my EB was normal. I have an appt on the 19th w/ the RE to see what he suggests from here. I have a feeling it's going to be Clomid. Any comments on it?

I know I'm not ovulating because when I did ovulate my temp used to go up to 98.4.. it's been lower than 97.5 and not doing much of anything.... MY LH surge happens, but I don't ovulate. My temp doesnt rise, I don't get moody (like I used to.. no PMS!!???) and my bbs don't get sore anymore before period...:confused3 I'm VERY upset that my body decided to take a turn for the worse.. this wasn't even my problem in the beginning...The problem was that I was having miscarriages.
So I'm thinking that maybe my meds (the dostinex) screwed up my period :confused3 SInce my prolactin went down to 1, maybe that's why.
I made a follow up with my RE next month.

To add again to what Amber said and to give you an idea on how much weight gain can vary. I am told that about 25-30 pound gain is completely perfectly normal for me. I truly was only 2 pounds "overweight" to begin with (dang miscarriage had me eating poorly). I know some people who haven't gained at all during pregnancy because they got "healthier" and are perfect as well.

Mla, so glad you had a wonderful trip! I might be dense tonight, but what does EB stand for?

Dznylvr, I would talk to your doc... in all honesty after my miscarriage I never had the same symptoms with AF. I used to get all that you were saying you did and then after the miscarriage, I had none of that. Obviously that didn't make a difference with me as I got pregnant about 3-4 months later. I quit temping because my temp wouldn't jump with ovulation either. I wouldn't use that as your indication that you are not ovulating. If you are worried about that, get a blood test from your doc. Far more accurate than any temps or "symptoms" JMO :)

Welcome back, Emily! Unfortunately, I'm still here, too! Sounds like y'all really needed that WDW trip! Good luck with the HSG. I hope you begin to get some answers soon.

Hi, girls!

Minor snag with the weekend trip. The person who was supposed to watch the kids woke up throwing up, so we had to find someone else. I managed to do that in a fury before work this morning. I feel a little bad about changing plans on the kids, but they will still have a great time. And we will, too.

Emily - With my HSG, I would not have been able to go back to work, but there are lots of people who can. I would recommend playing it by ear if at all possible. It was really pretty cool to see the dye moving through. The RE also injected some kind of oil, which they believe might help get me moving - it didn't, but maybe that was the cause of the cramping.

Allison - When is your appointment with your GP?

DznyLvr - What a mess! Good luck with your RE. A word of advice - ask him to do a complete review with you of your history, all tests which have been performed, your charts, etc. When I was seeing the RE, I often saw the NP - who was great, but never had the time to do a thorough review. If someone had done that, they would have seen the test they missed, which turned out to be my problem (PCOS), and which was fixed easily with meds.

Mla - glad you had a good trip!

Thank you for all of your support! I really appreciate it!

I was wondering where everyone was!! You guys were all at WDW. I am so jealous.

I am still a little sore, but I am finally able to eat something and am feeling more like myself.

Anybody else get weird dreams while TTC? Good grief....I frequently remember dreams, but lately it's like every night I remember them, and at least every other night I dream that I'm pregnant. They've been out of control. In one of the ones last night, I looked out the window of a house (supposedly my parents' house in the dream) and saw ocean animals, like jellyfish and octopi, on the clothesline. A lion was tied up and was coming for the window, so we were trying to barricade ourselves in (me, parents, DH). SO WEIRD!

I'm ready to get pregnant so I can move on from these weird dreams to the weird pregnant dreams.
