Thanks for the info Kelly! :) That's what I was thinking, but since I'm new to this, I wanted to be sure. :goodvibes

Congratulations Cari!!! :cheer2: :woohoo: It's so exciting to hear about everyone's BFP's!! I hope we get one soon, too to join you all! :thumbsup2

Congrats Cari!! I've always heard that the minute you don't try as hard you get that BFP!

Cari, congrats!! I peed on a variety of sticks, too and, even after my blood test confirmed it, I peed on a few more. :sunny:

Kristy, is the doctor going to do anything different to prevent the hyperstim? I had my doses lowered a ton and it really made a difference. I also got monitored closer and my doses were adjusted practically every day. But, hey, it worked, so it was worth it!

My OB appt went well. I have my choice of 2 hospitals for delivery. I guess that's good, but it's just another decision. My integrated early screening is on 11/30. My next OB appt is 12/7. I still have no idea when my u/s is - supposed to be next week. The suspense is killing me. My OB was so excited, he kept me there for almost 2 hours! I was exhausted by the time I got out of there. He just kept talking and talking.

To people who already have kids: Do hospitals let you take a tour of L&D and maternity to make a decision? I'd like to find out about private rooms. I'll walk out if I have to share a room - I don't care if I'm still bleeding from a c-section, I'm not sharing a room and trying to breast feed while someone else's DH is walking around the room. :p One hospital has a NICU, but one only has a Level II Nursery. If I have twins, I want a NICU. But, the one with the Level II is where my friend delivered and she said it's great there. I'm so confused. :guilty:

awesome on the weight loss Kristy!! keep up the good work!

Carla- i can't wait to hear about your u/s. when do you find out if you have 2 in there?

just about to go in for my lap- i'll keep you guys posted later!

Cari, I am so excited for you!!! I could have written that post myself!!! We had been trying since around Dec of last year and last month I was so depressed and stressed about it that I "gave up" Low and behold, I wound up pregnant. Took me three pregnancy tests to prove it to me ;) Especially since I had a subchorionic bleed that caused relatively heavy (though not constant) bleeding and clots, I have been very cautious about it. We've seen the heartbeat and I had an appt this morning (I am 7w6d today). I will be telling my dad this weekend I think :)
When I do that I will finally put that ticker in my sig :teeth:

Kellyf, I wish I had an answer on the EWCM for you with O'ing. I should've asked my NP today when I went in just out of curiosity. I asked her a few other curiosity questions as well. Like she said I could keep bleeding for another week or so (what an annoyance that is!) but as long as it is light she is good with it. I'm a bleeder... such fun... I even bled through the stupid cotton ball this morning when they did the routine blood work.
I'm rambling, but I wish I had remembered to ask her for you. I'm curious about that too.

So I had the appt this morning and all was fine. We chatted for a while and discussed some things. I have two hospitals I can choose from and I am pretty sure I will be picking Ohio State's hospital. The other choice of mine is the same one my mom was in when she had cancer and died, so I am not sure I can do that.

Carla, I hope you get your u/s soon. Just keep telling yourself they don't want to do it too early because then they probably will not see anything and that will worry you more ;) I obviously don't have kids yet, but yes, our hospitals allow for tours for you to decide what you want and if you want to go there. At least my NP said as much about my two choices. I do know my friend did that as well when she was pregnant and wound up giving birth at OSU as well.
I am glad that your OB is excited for you! That is awesome! Have you had any issues with morning sickness yet? The NP stated that granted there are rare cases of it coming up later, but most likely I will not get any worse than I am at this moment. Which I am fine with. I saw a poor girl with her DH come in and have to make a mad dash to the bathroom this morning. I felt so bad for her :(

Crud, I forgot to say congrats on the weightloss Kristy!! That is really awesome! I know you can do it! I have heard issues with WW and other "diets" out there saying that you can easily gain it all back when you are done. Not quite as much on WW if you try the whole points system and always make your own food (becomes more habit than just eating frozen food), but definitely on things like Atkins and South Beach. They have little books out there that give fat and calorie intakes that are awesome to have. The ones we have here have even calorie counts of restaurants. Comes in quite handy! I've also found that fat free doesn't always help. It doesn't keep me as full as long, so if you get PB, get the real stuff (for example). The total calories will matter just as much (if not more) than the fat content (unless going for a six pack stomach or the like... otherwise fat can be burned off by exercise... which I didn't do... honest, not until I lost 90% of my weight did I actually get on a bike and exercise).

I really hope this will continue to do well for you. Once you get down to a decent weight, it will be more of a lifestyle change than it will be a diet. At least mine is now. Oh and I found that if you have a craving... FILL IT! Just take that calorie count out of another meal you would have had. It really helped me not feel deprived and starved.

I went from a size 14/16 to about a 2 (I have some 4s and some 0s). I've kept it off a while now too. It was hard at first, but so "easy" later :)

And now I'll hush on the weight loss for all else :p

Before I go... got any cute ways I can tell my dad? This will be his very first grandchild!

Cari....Congratulations!!! :cheer2: That is soooooooooo exciting!!

Elaine...sounds like your appt went well. Hmmm....fun ways to tell your dad....that is tricky. Maybe buy him a card - something that says "grandfather" or "thinking of you grandad". Just tell him you are giving it to "just because". Let him be excited when he sees the words "grandfather" on the front! (Maybe a Halloween card - I feel like they have occasion cards for everything now!).

I agree with kellyf2626. I would get something that says Grandad on it. What about a shirt/hat that says World's Best Grandad?

Cari - That's awesome! :cool1: :cool1: Congratulations!

Elaine - We bought cards for both our parents that were Grandparent congratulation cards. They both read them at the same time, and were both really excited!

Carla - Most hospitals will let you tour L&D before you make a decision. Usually you just call and schedule an appointment. I'm going to Concord, which doesn't have a NICU, but the Elliot and Dartmouth are fairly close by if I need one for any reason.

KellyF - I always thought that O happened sometime between the morning with the low temp, and the morning with the temp spike. Good luck!!!!

Kristy - congrats on the weight loss!!! That's awesome!

Good luck everyone else! Happy 2ww (if there can be such a thing :) )

I feel horrible today! I woke up with the worst sore throat that I've had in ages. I really hope I'm not getting sick.

:lmao: That was SO ME... The first time I went to my new OB, I was soooo sick (he ended up direct-admitting me to the hospital), but anywho- I was filling out paperwork, doing ok- and then it HIT. Of course, I carried my bucket with me everywhere (because I would never make it to the bathroom) and I started puking in the waiting room. :guilty: AS IF that weren't bad enough, every time I vomited in those early weeks I ALSO peed my pants. It was just awful.

SOO- I hope none of you ever experience that. It sucked. :rotfl: I can't even believe that I can laugh about it now- but it's just one of those things. I think I'm going to start writing my script for a Lifetime Movie.

Arizona- I NEVER had EWCM. Ever. Freaked me out. I started taking Robitussin to loosen things up; in the end, I got pg anyway.

Cari- CONGRATS!! :cheer2:

kellyf- If you see a spike in your temp then you already O'd (probably yesterday). Today would be 1dpo, assuming you still have a high temp tomorrow.

Carla- They allow tours at my hospital, I think most would. I was very concerned about the private room thing, but ALL L&D rooms at my hospital are private!! :woohoo: I understand,though- things would be crazy enough without having to worry about a roommate and her DH too. And her crying baby waking you up, etc. My hospital doesn't have a NICU, so we'd be transferred to St. Louis if need be (God forbid). I can't handle any more drama.

Elaine- glad the appt went well! How about a bib that says "I (heart) Grandpa"?

Everyone else- Happy TTCing and 2ww'ing!!

Thanks Becky! The only thing that makes me still wonder is that my OPK is still negative? Hmmm...maybe todays will be nice and dark. I usually do them around 2:30 or 3:00 when I get home from work!

I'm not temping, but last cycle I used a OPK and it said I was on a Friday and I had no EWCM, and then the following Thursday or Friday I got the EWCM. I still have no idea what that was all about. :confused3

You know- I have heard so much about OPKs and how "off" they can be. I mean, I'm sure they work for some people, but I wouldn't put too much faith in them. Take your temps, watch your CM (even though I never had much CM), and just let your body do the work.

Carla - Are both hospitals fairly close to you? If you do have twins who need a NICU, chances are pretty good you will go home without them, so you will want to be as close as possible.

Also, DHMC does have to room patients together from time to time, but they almost never room laboring or delivering mothers, or mothers with babies together. When I was hospitalized before Hannah was born, I had a roommate for several days - which I actually enjoyed because I was bored out of my mind!

And I am almost certain you will have an opportunity to visit and tour the hospitals before you make a decision. Does your OB (and/or his practice) have practicing rights at both places?

Ok...I just did an OPK and the line was much darker than the test line. So, I must be O'ing! Since this was my first day for a temp spike, I am going to call this 1 DPO.

So...DH and I bd'd on Mon., Tues, and last night (Thurs.). Since I am O'ing today, should we bd tonight too??? I don't want to miss my window!!

Carla - YEP! You can tour the hospital :O) I am so excited for you! I wish your u/s was TODAY!! Can hardly stand it! Are you over the moon? Have you told anyone IRL?

Elaine - wow! I can't believe you are 8 weeks already! Since you are due near Father's Day, why don't you play on that for your dad? Tell him his gift is coming in early June. Or get a frame "World's Best Grandpa" or something and put one of your ultrasound pictures in it. He is going to be THRILLED! I forget - do you have siblings? Have you told anyone IRL yet?

OPK's - they never worked for me. They might of had I had patience. But I never got a + line on them. Been pregnant 6 times without them, though!

Congrats Caribear! That's exactly how it happened for this pg and my pg with my son. It sucks to hear when you have been TTC for a long time, but it's just weird.
I have my next appt on Monday. Getting nervous. I will be nervous until I feel this baby consistently. Then I will think of other things to fret about, LOL! Only when this child is safely in my arms will I stop worrying about THOSE things. Then it's a whole new ball of wax.

Any big plans this weekend? Not too much here. DH is working so DS and I will be hanging out cleaning the house and raking leaves.

Any of you preggos craving things? Right now I have the WORST craving for BBQ (beef) ribs with tons of sauce on it and a baked potato with a gallon of Bearnaise on it. SIGH. And all I will be having for dinner tonight is pizza. Might have to see if I have a packet of Bearnaise to spice it up a bit..

Sure, better be safe that sorry ;)

Most of the different books say you need to have BD'd before O'ing, but unless you have an ultrasound at that exact minute, you don't know precisely when you O'd. So one more shot at BDing can't hurt.

Minnesota! - the cravings are really weird, aren't they? For a while, all I wanted was tomato soup (which I don't like) Now all I want is nachos from Applebee's. Which is a pain in the head, since the nearest one is about 1/2 hour away. Lucky my DH is a saint, since he's taking me out for dinner. :)

Jen

kellyf- it certainly couldn't HURT your chances if you BD tonight too! If you have the strength left. :lmao:

Minnesota!- My cravings are always new and out of left field. Never know what it's going to be. For a while, when I was really sick but just able to eat solids again, the first thing I craved was chips dipped in salsa mixed with cream cheese. I actually had my mom sneak it into the hospital (the nurses would have said NO WAY). But, it was delicious and I kept it down. THEN, when I got home (well, to my mom's house- where I lived for a month) I wanted Imo's Pizza (does anyone else even have Imo's?): I had to have sausage, green peppers, and onions, and then I would pick all of that off and just eat the crust/cheese. :confused3

Now, I am able to eat more normal things. :teeth: Salads are big for me. And Wild Cherry Pepsi.

No big plans this weekend. We're going to a bonfire Saturday night, but laying low other than that.
