Jen- I'm the same way about dinner; I don't know what I want until it's actually time to already be eating dinner. What sounds good now won't sound good in 4 hours.
2ww Questions: I didn't avoid ANYTHING the month I got pregnant. I had a few margaritas, took ibuprofen, ate whatever I wanted. I figured, once I knew *for sure* that I was pregnant, then I would start with the avoiding things- but honestly, Iasked my doc before I got pregnant, and she reassured me that I could eat pretty much whatever I wanted. I still eat lunchmeat (cold) and blue cheese dressing and hot dogs- especially corn dogs, as I have already mentioned.
Your chances for listeria (from lunchmeat or soft cheeses) is practically NILL. A few drinks will not kill your chances to conceive (maybe TMI- but I'm actually pretty sure that I had a couple of glasses of wine the night we DID conceive, and then some margaritas a few nights later).
Most books will tell you not to worry about anything you did/ate/drank before you knew you were pregnant.
Once I did get pregnant, I cut out the alcohol and switched to Tylenol only for pain relief. I still drink caffiene- Wild Cherry Pepsi tastes SOOOO good right now (which is weird because I usually don't drink it).
And honestly, since I was so sick, I had to have a lot of things done that are considered pregnancy no-nos. I have had about 8-10 Xrays. I had to be INJECTED with radio active material to check for a blood clot in my lung. I had to breathe radio active material for the same test. I had surgery when I was only 10 weeks along. But you know what? My little girl is still in there: alive and "kicking" (pun intended)

She's growing right on target!
SO- the moral of my story is: don't get yourselves too worked up- it'll make you crazy if you worry about all of the things that *could* happen. Instead, my advice is to ask your doc if you are really concerned about something (like meds, for example) but otherwise RELAX and have fun.
