Any opinions on this touring plan for our MK day?

I know it isn't possible to do MK in one day so we have tried to narrow it down to what all of us really want to see. I'm using my Passporter as a guide when factoring in wait times, etc. so I'm hoping this will be pretty accurate (we are going in July so I am anticipating long waits on most things).

Anyway, I have tentatively scheduled our day and I'm just wondering if you guys would change anything that I have done or have any tips to make it a better schedule? TIA for any help!! :disrocks:

*We will be there at opening, BTW

*First stop ~ Fantasyland:
1. Peter Pan
2. Grab a fastpass for Philharmagic
3. Pooh Ride
4. Fantasyland Characters
5. Philharmagic
6. Mad Tea Party
(According to the times listed in Passporter, this will use up about 3 hours or so...does that seem about right?)

* Lunch at Pinocchio's Village Haus around 12:30

* Liberty Square
1. Haunted Mansion

*Toontown by 2:00
1. Minnie's House
2. Mickey's House
3. Donald's Boat
4. Railroad to Frontierland

*Frontierland by 4:00
1. Grab Fastpasses for BTMR or Splash Mtn. (haven't decided yet)
2. Try out the Shootin' Arcade
3. Head to Tom Sawyer Island if Fastpass time is long
4. BTMR or Splash Mtn.

*Adventureland by 6:30
1. Grab Fastpass for Jungle Cruise
2. POTC
3. Jungle Cruise

*Dinner at Plaza around 8:00

And here is where I get stuck, LOL ~ We want to do the following things in Tomorrowland but I seem to be out of time...any suggestions or should I delete Toontown maybe?

*Tommorowland
1. Buzz Lightyear
2. Stitch (I know this isn't a popular ride but it is a MUST for us)
3. Space Mtn.
4. TTA
5. Indy Speedway

Please help me :confused3 Thank you!

I've never been in July, but that seems like a long time for that if you get there at opening. Is Extra Morning Hour an option? In December we went to EMH and did Peter Pan, Pooh, Space Mountain, and Buzz all before the park actually opened. I would do the Tea Cups after the Pooh ride then do the characters and Philharmagic after. I wouldn't think you'd need a FP for Philharmagic (it was always only the wait until the next show in December), but maybe in July you do?

* Lunch at Pinocchio's Village Haus around 12:30[/b]
Again, I don't think you'd be ready for lunch then since I'm sure you'll be done before 11:30. Maybe follow your plan and wait until you actually get hungry.

* Liberty Square
1. Haunted Mansion

*Toontown by 2:00
1. Minnie's House
2. Mickey's House
3. Donald's Boat
4. Railroad to Frontierland
Hmm, I think I would do Toontown immediately after Fantasyland and then save Haunted Mansion since the line for that moves so quickly.

*Frontierland by 4:00
1. Grab Fastpasses for BTMR or Splash Mtn. (haven't decided yet)
2. Try out the Shootin' Arcade
3. Head to Tom Sawyer Island if Fastpass time is long

Again, I've never been in July, but I'm sure you'll be done with the rest of that stuff before 8:00! If EMH is an option I'd do Peter Pan, Pooh, Space, Buzz, and Stitch before opening and then go back and get what you missed in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland.

Yes, I would delete Toontown and the train. But that's my preference.

Get a FP for Peter Pan and do stand-by for Philharmagic.

How little is your youngest? If older than 7, I'd skip Toontown and do Tomorrowland instead.

Also, skip Tom Sawyer's island and use that time to wait for whichever mountain you don't have FP for. Those will be long waits. Actually, get the FP for Splash since it's July. (Everyone wants to get wet).

Good luck! (Just suggestions remember!!)

Thanks, I also thought that the time seemed a little much but it is my first time so I was going by what the book said...I think for a start at least, we will skip Mickey's House (Passporter says to allow 60+ minutes just for this attraction and I think we'll be fine with just taking pics of it from outside, LOL). I do want to get pics of my girls inside Minnie's House though so I'll keep that one on my list.
And you are right about lunch...if we are done with Fantasyland by 11 or 11:30, we won't quite be ready for lunch yet, so I'll have to rethink that also...luckily we are doing CS for lunch so at least I don't have to stick to an ADR for that one.
I'm going to keep tweaking this so if anyone else has input for me, I'd love to hear it! :flower:

tjmouse ~ thanks for the tip on Peter Pan and Philharmagic!

Hi, this is Stacy's sister and we're all going as a family. We're not staying on property so no EMH unfortunately. The youngest in our group will be my daughter and she will be 18 months when we go. Is Toontown something that would be age appropriate for her? Dh and I can always take her while Stacy and her family are in line for something. My DS7 is afraid of most rides anyway. We took him to MK when he was 3 and he had a HUGE meltdown on the Tea Cups, lol. It was UGLY!

Toontown has the Barnstormer (small rollercoaster) that most young kids love. The line gets long so getting there early would be good. Haunted Mansion doesn't have FP's anymore and that line moves quick, but sometimes it can be a long wait and if the kids are under 7, it could be too long to ask them to stand in line for. Not sure which you would want to do more? Oh and if you want to see Mickey and Minnie, the easiest way is to go to their house, they are at the end of the house for pictures and autographs.

Mickey's house is just a walk through, but you have to stand in the line in his tent to see him. You could just walk through the house and not wait to see him. The lines for the Pooh ride get really long though, if you get there early enough, i would get FP for Pooh and then ride PP.

You know, we have been there in July and August, and both times FP have gone pretty quickly. sometimes by midafternoon, they are gone completely. I think this is a little better since the limit on FP, but you may get it and your time may be 2-3 hours later. If you are intent on sticking to a time table, you may miss things you want. Also, going on popular things during parade times is still a good shot.

And, since it is summer, park hours are much later. MK is usually open until 11 or 12. We actually have done everything in the park that we wanted, and some things twice! I don't know the ages of your kids, but keep an open mind! Good luck with everything!!

This is a plan that we always follow. Fastpass for peter pan, ride as many other fantsyland rides as possible until fastpass time. See Philharmagic. Send one person to get fast passes for those who want to go on space mountain while others walk to buzz lightyear ride that and tta while waiting for space mountain time. Take little kids not riding space mountain to toontown to explore take the train to the other side of the park get a fast pass for big thunder rail road walk across the bridge eat a pecos bills see country bears maybe haunted mansion depending on fastpass time ride btmr and get fast pass for splash mountain. Do poc jungle cruise tree house have a dole float. ride splash mountain. This will keep you from backtracking to much.
Have fun

I agree with the suggestions other posters have made. No need for FP with Philarmagic since so many people can go in at one time. Also it is important to always have a FP in hand. Send one member of the group to get the next batch of FP's as soon as the ones you are holding time is met. Don't wait until after you have used them to get the next ones.

The only suggestion I would add is more along a caution. July will be HOT and HUMID! Other than meals I don't see any "down" time scheduled. I would strongly suggest a couple hour break to go back to your hotel and rest. The little ones could use a nap and it will make the evening far more enjoyable. And be sure everyone keeps their fluids up. Lots of water! I can't make this suggestions strongly enough.

Oh, one last thing. I'm not sure if I would spend the valuable morning time meeting characters in Fantasyland. The Characters are around everywhere all day and evening. The parks become more crowded as the day goes on because most people don't want to get up early on vacation. You will get more rides ridden first thing in the morning than you will after lunch.

Enjoy! Have a magical vacation! :wizard:

The Unofficial Guide to WDW has some great touring plans, including "Dumbo or Die in a Day" plan, which pretty much crams everything into one day. Also, the book's website, touringplans (dot) come allows you to subscribe for $6.95 (or close to that) and then has numerous customized plans for each park. We used the book on our last trip and we were AMAZED at how much we fit into a day! :wave2:

I 110% agree with needing downtown in the summer. The parks are not do-able without it. But since you are staying off-site, not sure how far OFF site you are, maybe instead of going back there, head over to FT. Wilderness (via boat)where there is lots of shade and cool and take it easy over there. Get a rocker on the porch and a cool drink, let the kids play on the playground. You can even get water sprites over there to take out on the water. You can always hop back over to MK on the boat (to and from) and you'll be refreshed to start your fun back up in the parks!

From what I've read around here, in busy months the fastpasses are gone for the popular rides earlier than 4:00 pm.

That is a GREAT idea!

We just got back from doing WDW with a 16 month old, and getting some down time is an absolute prority. One suggestion: the strollers at the parks are WAY too big for sucha small one, and it would be worthwhile and probably actually SAVE YOU MONEY to stop at Walmart or whatever on the way in to purchase one. MUCH better deal.

Good for the VERY small at Magic Kingdom: It's a Small World, Cinderella' Carousel, Pooh (get a fastpass if you can, the line is long and hot), Pooh's garden play area (my daughter cried when we had to leave) Peter Pan. Not so good: Snow White. Too scary for the babies.

Oh, get the little one out of the stroller as much as possible. Our little one got a heat rash on her bottom, even in December. Once we saw it, we let you out more often and after that she was much more comfortable.
