Menu looks pretty good. Is this a disney restaurant, and if so, is it on the DDP? How is it?

We went to CG for the first time last year. We were there for a late lunch. We enjoyed it. It was uncrowded, food was good and so was the service. We will be going back next trip. This time for dinner. We like the fact that you can easily get there from EPCOT or DHS.

Yes, it is a Disney restaurant and it's on the DDP. Although I've seen a couple negative reviews recently, we've always had a good experience there and as the previous poster indicated, it is usually not crowded and also very conveniently located to Epcot.

It's a very solid place. Food and service are good. It's not a terribly exciting place, but well worth trying out.

We love it. Great food and portions. We consider it a wonderful secret....for now....

I'm glad to hear good things about it. My DS ad I are going fo 10 days next April on the DxDP and are considering it. My DS is a picky eater due to health concerns and we have to find restaurants we can both enjoy. She does well with seafood and though I love seafood don't want it every day. This seems like a good choice.

The menu looks decent, but I never hear people talking about this place. I hear about Cali Grille, and Garden Grille, and this grill and that grill, but rarely Capts. Grille. would love some opinions on food, service, etc.... This isn't signature is it?

Hi,
We eat at the Captain's Grille at least once per trip for lunch. It is table service but a casual table service. On the dinning plan it is a 1 credit place. I usually enjoy either the wedge salad and a burger or I have their soup and sandwhich combo. The tuna is always very fresh.

We had dinner there last year and were very impressed.

The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing after a busy day at Epcot.

The food was wonderful. We tried the pork chop and two different steaks and everything was excellent. They happily boxed up our dessert too go as we were to full to eat it.

I recommend this restaurant.

Count me in as another fan, never been disappointed.

We eat here for dinner once a trip, always good food well presented and friendly service.

Don't tell anyone else, ok? :rolleyes1

Hi,

We ate there once in Sept 2007. We had an extra DDP TS each to burn and we happened to be in the area for lunch. It was a very pleasant surprise and we were glad we ate there... of course, this is when it was called Yacht Club Galley but it's all the same anyway :)

We tried CG for the first time last year. We took the boat from EPCOT for a relaxing lunch. (Walking would be faster but we try to spare our feet when we can.) This time we are going on our DHS day, for dinner.

Yes, I couldn't find much information about it either, but the menu looked pretty good, so I went ahead and booked it for our upcoming August trip. PPs-thanks for the good reviews!

we stayed at the BC last year and opted for dinner at the Capt's Grill our first night and were extremely impressed, esp for one TS... ds' prime rib was the meal by which he now judges all other meals!

we had b'fast there another day and were less than impressed... the dining room was empty yet we had to wait 20 minutes... the service was poor and the food just okay...

ergo, i recommend it for dinner, but not so much for b'fast!

read so many different thoughts on this place. Some say its the best kept secret and then others said its about equivalent to Ruby Tuesday. Help.....

I pay no attention to other peoples opinions of food. I like something because it tastes good to me, not because someone else thought it was great. (And it works the other way as well.) I look at the menus for what appeals to me.

That said DH and I 'discovered' Capt.'s Grille on our last trip and will go back on our next.
