Just booked with the annual pass discount. Is this a good place to stay? Probably won't be able to use the water park b/c of the time of year. Thanks for your opinions.

Yup, it's a great place to stay! The rooms are nice, have interior hallways, free parking, and my girls loved the water play area!

I stayed there twice. In the newer rooms, they were great. In the older rooms the beds were extremely lumpy and uncomfortable. This was several years ago, so it very well may have been rehabbed. The kids loved the water park. It is hard to tell if it will be fun bc you really have no idea of the weather very far in advance. It could be in the 80's on Christmas day, or 50.

We have stayed there a couple of times. We have always had a rate of less than $100.00 a night. At that rate I would consider it worth it. It is a clean hotel, but the rooms are little outdated. I would easily stay there again if it was a great rate.

We have stayed three times (2007, 2010 and 2011) and loved it. We always had a 2Q deluxe room in building 2, by the garden pool. The rooms are spacious, the property is beautifully maintained. I would stay again but can't get the same room for less than $189 anymore.

Be sure to sign up for their e-mails. They have 50% off Super Family rates and they keep adding dates, so yours might come up. You have to receive the e-mail in order to get the rate as they require you to show the e-mail with your name on it at check in.

Wow! Thanks for the tip, Rubygoose. I'll be sure to do this.

Thanks, I will keep my eye open:thumbsup2

It's an awesome place to stay, like a small version of a WDW value resort without the food court. Super friendly staff, nice grounds, big rooms with comfy beds, ART stop in front, and 8-minute walk to the main gates. They've also saved my vacation twice in the past by rebooking rooms with no penalty when weather and other problems at my home airport forced my dates to change. Really can't speak highly enough of the place. If I can't stay on-site, I stay here. Note that the run-of-house room (buildings 3, 4, 5, 6) are just as nice as the tower/view rooms. (Just no microwave.)

We stayed in the hojo 7 years ago for our honeymoon, before the pool and refurbs and we really like it. It was close to the parks, very nice and clean, excellent service… we were really happy… so happy that we are staying there again in 2 weeks :) So excited! I checked trip advisor for lots of other good neighbour hotels and hojo consistently got the best reviews.

Stayed there once a year for the last 5 years average 7 night stays. Last 2 trips in the kids suite. Watched the service, cleanliness, discounts and overall value slip away. Total shame what's happened there, especially the last 2 years. The Entertainment discount was the best....

I have stayed at HOJO every year on our visit to DL (6th visits in 6 yrs from Australia) and love the place then my DS came along with us last year and loved it even more as he loved the kids pool area
The rooms are always super clean staff super friendly - I had 1 visit where the wifi wouldn't work in my room they ended up giving me up own router in my room with my own service to get it working that was the GM spent an hour trying to get it working and he was very friendly and helpful but other than that absolutely no issue used to book on entertainment rate but since that stopped and I signed up for the super family discount every trip I've had most nights 50% off this years trip in November I have have to pay full price on 2 nights out of 9

The only other place I would stay if I had the $$$$ is GCH but Hojo makes me feel at home

Where do I find more info on the super family discount? Sounds like a good plan!

Love love love Hojo's!
internal hallways, kids water park, super staff who will go out of their way to organise things for you, clean a great little on site store with everything from beer to postcards, and all within a easy 8 min walk to park and that's with kiddies in tow. :thumbsup2

Do they have the pool/kid's water park open during the off season? Me and DS are planning a trip for February and HoJo is on our list of possibilities but we need a pool to swim in (We're from Canada so yes we will be our swimming at 10am as the weather is warm enough for us lol).

We stayed there in Feb. 2012, over what turned out to bean American holiday weekend, my bad.

Anyways, the room was a King in building two, it was a bit of the walk. Or it felt that way by the end of the day.
It was a decent place to sleep, shower and rest.

We picked up groceries at a store, one night on the walk back, there was a hotel near the HoJo, that had some groceries, more than what the HoJo offered.

If you follow a mouse Savers, they have good rate discounts too, or as other have mentioned look at their email, for a discount.

Do your research and don't be over charged!

Have fun.

We are very big fans of Hojo, and we usually stay in the Kid's Suite, while my cousin and her family like the 2 Queen deluxe. I love the feel of the Hojo, the decor with all the orange, the grounds are beautiful, and I love the retro vibe it has. We enjoy the gift shop very much! We also catch the ART shuttle when we are tired. Hope you have a great time! :)

Haven't stayed there in a while because we like to stay on property, but if we wanted to save some money and were to stay off property again, we would most likely stay there. Especially with kids, because of the pool area. The people there were very nice, the room was clean, and we could see the fireworks!

As far as I know the pool/kids water park is definitely open during off season. Just send them an email, to double check, they are super quick in replying
