Hi everyone,

I have always lurked on Redweek, the time share condo rental site but now I am thinking of using it.
Has anyone here used it?
The week I am looking at is verified and protected by Redweek but idk, it seems too good to be true in a way.

I have used Davids DVC Rentals a couple of times and it worked out well but I was hoping some of you might have experience with Redweek that you could share.

Thanks in advance for any and all help

I've used Redweek about six times (the too good to be true would probably bother me too). The rentals I did were good saving over retail, but in line with what I expected to pay to rent a timeshare. I like TUG2.net classifed ads section too. It's a timeshare user group site and another great place to rent timeshares. Places I've rented the most often in Orlando are Cypress Pointe and the Sheraton Vistana Resort. There (TUG2.net after making the initial inquiry), you can call ask to call the owner directly before deciding to rent and not have that $15 fee (gives you a good feeling talking to someone or at least it has for me). I've probably done about 10-12 rentals from there over the years.

I've had good experiences, and in general timeshare properties I've rented for me have been nicer than VRBO properties I've rented (just have really liked the quality and amenities). For VRBO with all the cancellations I hear about from other people recently I've just rented from people with the Superhost designation and those have gone smoothly (There are just lots of places where sometimes you want a condo, but there just aren't timeshare properties to rent and VRBO options seem to be everywhere.)

We used redweek for our Sedona/Grand Canyon vacation. The prices and the condo were both great with no issues!

I've used Redweek to both rent other people's timeshares and rent out my own. If Redweek is saying it's verified and protected it is about as safe as a timeshare rental can be. In a "verified and protected" rental Redweek calls the property to make sure the reservation is real and then holds onto all of the money until after the renter has checked in. Someone renting out their timeshare (or points) on Redweek and having Redweek collect the payment isn't getting paid anything until after the renter has checked in.

The DVC rental market is much more built than other timeshare systems market. Brokers like Davids, DVCrentalstore and others are able to facilitate rentals in a rather standardized DVC point system with few issues. Other timeshare programs aren't as standardized and the properties in general aren't as well known or as in demand as the Disney ones which has made it more difficult for want-to-be timeshare brokers like Koala to get to a large enough scale to be relevant.
