it states shipping to canada with duties included. how was your experience. i want to get dd a kick scooter by piranha and i cant find them in canada..thanks
vicky

I've never shopped from there, have found that shipping on any items I wanted killed the savings. Looks like shipping + tax/duty on a scooter will run around $40, which doesn't actually sound too bad for an item that size.

It depends how they ship your item.
If its USPS (US postal service) its fine...
but if its UPS..Courier rather then the postal service....count on a brokerage charge of the price of your item or more!

I purchased an item on Amazon that costs $24.99 plus shipping... the brokerage fee was $18.89 from UPS plus the taxes/duty on top of it!

The item wasn't worth it after all those charges.

what we have been doing for us online shopping is get it ship to an address in the us right across the border that we got from myusaddress.ca and then we go pick it up. They charge us between 5-10 per package that we retrive from them and it's a bigger saving for us. We go have lunch or something ,shop around and on our way back we usually pick up our packages from them. Since we go the 5 of us across the border, we spend the day and usually bring about $200-300 back, we have never been dinged for customs yet.

I bought from overstock.com last year for Christmas. I can't recall what the shipping was (it was a necklace charm so very small)... however it came right to the door and I wasn't required to pay anything for duty/brokerage.

(Been caught on that before and paid $25 in 'fees' on a $30 order)

We do that too ..I also do a yearly online shopping spree to all my Fav places and have it shipped to our disney resort!

I have used them to buy a few lamps but it was 5 years ago and I think I did pay some duty. It was small.

I also get things shipped to Disney from LLBean etc. A few years ago we ordered a stroller from Amazon.com and saved almost $200, this year I am ordering a new winter Jacket.
