I am just curious as to anyones experience with any hair regrowth products from Rogaine to Avacor and anything inbetween. Male or Female does not matter. My son is looking for some help, and the rogaine has slowed down his hair loss but it is still continuing. I myself have lost a lot of my own hair density since I was diagnosed with a thyroid problem, that is why I would like opinions from male or females. Thanks!

If you find a good one, send me a PM. :) I have heard Rogaine works well for some.

The way I see it, if a hair growth product really worked, someone like Donald Trump would not need that huge comb-over.

I tried Rogaine on a whim a few years ago when it became available over-the-counter. It turns out that I was one of the unfortuate few who was allergic to something in the mix. I broke out with the worst case of contact dermatitus that took three weeks to get rid of. I now embrace my baldness.

Rogaine has worked really well for myself. It's let me keep this head of hair that all the ladies have come to love.

My Ma really likes it too, and tells me quite often that my hair is just like it used to be when I was a little boy.

Rogaine, like many other popular prescription drug products, was available in Canada before it was available here in the United States, so you might want to ask our fine friends to the North what their thoughts are on the product as well.

Good luck!

Some people attribut their hair loss to fungus and have had good results with Nizoral 2% shampoo. It is available for OTC but that is not the full strength - ask the doctor for a prescription.

My endocrinologist suggested Zinc 50mg/day. My thinning hair may have been thyroid related (my hair dresser thinks it was bad hair products  )

I credit the Zinc - give it a try! Give any remedy 3 months before deciding if it works or not.

Most of all, TELL OTHERS if something works! Good luck!

My husband tried Rogaine for awhile. I didn't think he needed it, but he swore his hair was thinning. I think Rogaine is only supposed to prevent hair loss, not help it grow back. Anyway, he started breaking out from it, so he went to a dermatologist. She put him on Propecia and he seems to think it's working. I don't know, since it's only supposed to "prevent" hair loss. I wonder what would happen if he stopped taking it all together. It's SOOOOO expensive.
