Marci - I just know that Jessie is going to do well after your story about how persistant she is. Do you have a good caregiver for her while you're away?

Jen - YAY! Your docs arrived!!

Valerie - did you find the scorpion?

I'm going to board Jessie at a vet center in Dallas -- it's one of the best in the city, and I'll feel more comfortable knowing someone will let her out of her crate every couple of hours and will know if she has anything wrong and needs to be looked after.

She has made my allergies go even crazier than they were since I'm allergic to cats and now I have a sinus infection. I know, not her fault. I got a steroid shot and some antibiotics this morning, so hopefully I'll be feeling better in a couple of days. Luckily, I've done a lot of the things I need to do so I should be able to get us packed over the weekend.

Ok now I'm getting nervous. I feel woefully unprepared. Had a nightmare last night. In it we got on the ship and the ship was about as big as a small boat.
My mother was with us (she's not going) and that was enough for a nightmare in itself. We planned on being there early but something happened and we were the last to arrive.
When we got to our cabin there was already a family there, that we were supposed to share with? I woke up in a cold sweat.....

Guess I better start packing so I feel more prepared.

Suz - I've been having them too! I'm really stressed about not OVERPACKING (which I'm guilty of) and trying to manage the luggage, kids, transfers etc. Yet - I don't want to have to be forking over a cc because I didn't bring something from home that I might need. Sigh....This is my first big trip with the kids w/o dh. I know I'll get everything together - but I don't want to be up until 2 am the night before. Anyone else getting nervous with all that there is to do?

Yes -- I'm nervous too! I've been making progress, but hadn't counted on nursing a cat that sent my allergies in to orbit giving me a sinus infection. I have all these things to do, and no energy to do them! I know it will all get done, but it does make me almost break out in a sweat sometimes!

Helen -- WTG -- you made it! Now enjoy those six weeks!

Stressed? Yes - Me, too. Woke several times last night thinking of things I still have to do before we leave. Why is it we have to get stressed in order to take a relaxing trip? Maybe it just makes the relaxation all the better when it finally gets here!!!

On top of that DH, Jeff, had a cold about 3 weeks ago. The cold is gone but it has turned into an ear infection that won't go away. So far 2 visits to the MD and 1 today to the ENT. They gave him stronger RX, and have to see him again Monday. They're even talking about tubes (I know it's common for kids, but I haven't heard that one for an adult very often). I'm really worried about him flying on Thursday with his ears! (not to mention the snorkeling we have planned! )

Marci - sounds like you are really struggling, too, with the kitty inside. Sorry about your allergies! Hope you're feeling better soon!

Lisa - Sounds like your house is gonna be back in order before the trip. Good luck travelling without DH... I'm sure Emily will be a big help with your luggage and directions, etc. In fact, my DD12, Ansley, even tells me which way to turn when I'm driving and when to stop at the traffic lights!!

Helen - Congratulations - You deserve a holiday!

Flo - I'll be here till next Thursday am - we're leaving Thursday afternoon, so I will still watch for your daily countdown!

One last thing to add to my earlier whining... broke a tooth today - headed to the dentist tomorrow for a temporary crown! Yuck!!

Anyone that is heading into WDW early, my cell phone number is
309-369-0905. I have it with me always and maybe we could catch a Diet Coke or a Fast Pass!!!! Kids golf in the mornings, but we catch up most any other time.

I know what you all mean about the nerves. No alarms, but there has been extensive coverage of the Princess incident. We have sailed so many times, yet it makes me stop and pray. Then our former priest called...wonderful guy!!! He has a friend...with two other friends...who are moving to the Orlando area to pursue careers in construction. Well, they need housing for a few days. How can you say no????? Now the worry...I have three young men...two are 17 turning 18 in August and one 21 year old, staying in our home as of tomorrow. Here is cute though...OUR boys offered to give up their rooms for the big guys to share...and they will stay in Abby's room with her. We have an extra guest room on the main floor, but Tom's mom and Sister Elaine...Tom's mom's friend...will be staying on the 26th or 27th so the kids don't want me to have to really get in there and clean before they arrive! Anyway, the boys want to stay in with Abby because the guys upstairs might think she is "hot," and "they might try to take advantage of her, Mom." How adorable! Pint-size heroes!! WOOHOO!! Tom flies in late Friday and leaves Sunday morning. We have missed him terribly! Then he returns next Friday...FOR THE CRUISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By the way Carla...dentists are good guys! My Tom is one!! Yours will do a beautiful job and make sure you have a beautiful smile for all the photos you'll be sorting through at Shutters! Also, prayers to your DH!!!

Marci...we are keeping you in prayer, too. I hope the sinus infection clears up and the allergies get under control.

Lisa, if you forget something...just ask me! I do overpack, and I don't care! I used to, then I just figure it is a part of who I am! We will have too many shoes, shirts, band-aids, and aspirin! There may even be a kitchen sink!

Carla, sorry to hear about your tooth. My husband ended up at the dentist last Sunday (she came in for him. His front tooth that is in with a rod (part of it) came off. Good luck. Glad you are going to be here till next Thursday that will not be bad then. Only one day fore me. We leave in the afternoon for the airport on Friday. Hope your DH ear is better by the time you fly.

Jen, how are thing for you? When do you leave for WDW?

Helen, What a way to being a 6-week holiday. Going to WDW and DCL. Also, that count down looks great in single digit.

Marci, Hope your sinus infection goes away Also, glad Jesse is doing better.

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for the good wishes!! They are definitely helping, as I am beginning to feel better.

Carla -- good luck at the dentist and with your DH's ear. I've found that a decongestant and Afrin helps me when I'm having sinus problems and flying.

Tif -- sounds like you have your hands full! Your boys sound like wonderful brothers for Abby.

I always overpack as well so feel free to ask me for anything as well.

Helen -- hope you are enjoying your time off.

Hi all

Ive been out with my mam - she wanted to get a new rug so we went to a big discount store - she said before we went in "IS there anything you need for your holiday "
I replied , no mam I've got everything for me thanks"

But sure enough I walked out with a brown sarong and another brown beach bag well they were discounted

Just looking at the amount of stuff Ive got on the spare bed Ive no idea how IM going to get everything in my case ? Luckily we have 30kg weight allowance each on the plane!

This time next week I'll be in the air!!!

I am praying we dont get delayed - last year we had an 11 hour delay that was a nightmare!!!

Good morning to all!

I'm happy to say that I have packed 2 suitcases so far

A couple of weeks ago the boys ( DH included ) said they didn't want to dress up for formal night or pirate night. Well.....now they want to do it all We had some serious shopping the past couple of days to get them all some dress clothes, shoes, etc.

I guess when you wear tshirts, shorts, all the time the idea of dressing up sounds fun. I'm really happy that the boys decided this. But it means more packing for me.

Aside from all the cruise prep we are builing a pool right now and tomorrow is when they pour the gunite ( concrete) So our house is a big mess, grass is dead, tons of dirt everywhere. At least, when we get back from vacation it will almost be done

Can't wait to meet you all. We leave on Sunday and will be at BCV and doing some serious park hopping. If anyone wants to try and meet up give me a call too (808)-294-2943 (cell)
