Any one on 7-29-06 / 7 Night Western!!!! Is Back

Jen tell your son :bday: from across the water!

He sounds really great, I can appreciate the savings mode. Each month im trying to put a bit away for July. I have a savings fund for clothes, one for spending money, one for the person who is going to live in and look after the dogs. ;)

I cant believe its May already. I booked this cruise @ the beginning of Nov and time seems to have flown since then.

I don't know about anyone else but I am really looking forward to meeting all of you and putting a face to the name. ( I just hope you don't think my accent is too funny :lmao: )

Im supposed to be marking books from school, but instead im trying to think of what I can bring you guys from the UK. Im thinking along the lines of some traditional fudge or toffee, but not sure if you can bring food into the usa? ( Think I'll ask over on the UK Dis board if they have any suggestions)

Oh well better get back to marking
Take care
:wave2:

Jen, Tell your son :cool1: Happy B-Day :cool1: , Thast sounds like something my son would have said about the money. I think as far as speing it on the cruise he would ask me if I would go half with him so he would not have to spend all his money. He is still like that today. I am greatfull with him in college that he thinks twice about spending money. ;)
Helen, I agree about the food thing. We are knowen for Pizza, or a Chicago style Hot Dog. But I do not know if they would let me being tht. And besides the smell would give it away. As far as bookingthe cruise. I have had mine booked since August of 2004. I booked when we were on are last cruise. I also can not wait to put faces with names. :teeth: You cyber talk all the time but meeting people is fun. It won't be long now. :Pinkbounc

HI ALL!!

Jen...Happy Birthday!!! party: to your son!!!! Our youngest, Alec, will be 10 in June. Our middle, Iain, will turn 12 onboard. And Abby turns 14 on Saturday! He sounds quite smart in choosing to use the funding onboard!!!! What game did he get??? We are fortunate in our neighborhood. There are several kids the same age. So we get four to six games and only have to buy one! They just keep trading!!!! :thumbsup2

Helen...I look so forward to listening to you! We love different dialects, and the stories of where they come from! I got braces in January...second round, long story...otherwise I would be begging you for the toffee!!! It is my favorite!!! :goodvibes

Flo...thanks for the kind words on Abby. If I can figure out how to upload and all that, I will get her pic on!

If any of you are prayers, my mom could use some these days. She has a terminal illness and gets shots off and on to help create red and white blood cells...diff. shots for each kind. Anyway, she has been a few months without and it is really running her down. She is truly the kindest woman you could ever hope to meet. She is 62 and extraordinarily beautiful. She had been a Miss Illinois back in 1962 or 3. She is more beautiful inside than out and we will all feel a loss when she is gone. My prayer is that the docs call her and bring her back in for a shot! Sorry to dump!

To all the good news and hopes and wishes... :cool1: We are so excited to meet you all! My DH asks daily..."So what are they saying today???"

Pixie Dust all!
tif :tink:

Tif, pixiedust: and prayers for your mom. I hope they call her in for the shot.

Thanks for the birthday wishes for Jonathan! I'll show it to him when he gets home from baseball practice.

Tif...sending prayers and much Aloha your way for your Mom :grouphug:

Aloha,
Jen

Jen -- Please tell Jonathan Happy Birthday!

Tif -- many prayers and lots of PD headed your mom's way. It is really tough when parents are sick. When my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer, I was shocked and devastated. My parents had always taken care of me. How was I supposed to know how to take care of them? But one day at a time and we worked through it. She mentioned the same thing to me, and I told her that life comes full circle -- she took care of me before, now it's my turn to take care of her.

Good night all -- hope tomorrow brings a :sunny: day for those who need it.

Hi Tif, and everyone else :wave2:
I just wanted to send my best wishes to your mom or (mam, as I pronounce it). I hope the doc calls her for her shot soon and I shall certainly say a prayer for you.

I shall think of something special that is braces friendly for yourself ;)

I like to idea of giving out postcards from our home town with our address on.

You will have to tell me all where abouts you are from - my geography is terrible. :guilty: I know the names of the towns /states but dont know whether they are North, south, east or west.

Im pretty ok with Las vegas, New york and Miami ,as our favourite TV series is CSI ! :teeth: (for those who watch it I am a big fan of Warrick Brown !! ;) )
I also love ER and House. Its so funny though seeing Hugh Laurie as an american as I am used to him in English comedy programmes.

Oh well im off to make my tea, im so hungry - must be the excitment

Hope you are all well.
:goodvibes

Thanks Helen!! I appreciate your kindnesses!!!

We are in central Illinois. We are about halfway between Chicago, Illinois and St. Louis, Missouri! We are often considered to be in the heartland. If is a great place to raise a family! There is currently a pick up baseball game going on in the backyard with about 6 neighborhood kids. A slow night. Granted, the biggest kid out there is Tom, my DH!!!! They were chipping golf balls into a laundry basket earlier.

I am a CSI junkie too!!! And I like all three shows, plus NCIS! I have always been a Mark Harmon fan!!!! :teeth:

;) I don't believe this. I am a CSI junkie to and a NCIS one. We watch all 3 CSI's and NCIS. Helen and Tif we will have that to talk about. Also, Tif we got the new TV guide today and it said that someone from NCIS is not going to return next year. I can't think of who it could be. Have a good evening everyone.

Marci, Flo, and Jen...thanks to all of you too for your thoughts and prayers!!! Your words of wisdom are greatly appreciated! I am really looking forward each day to getting online and seeing what all is going on!!!

I am trying to figure out something fun from our area to bring y'all!!! We've never had Disfriends before.

Thanks all!

We also enjoy CSI...Vegas and Miami are our favorites.

We live on the island Oahu which is the main Hawaiian Island. The current hit series "Lost" is being filmed here.

I'm already looking into booking another cruise in 2007. It won't be Disney though since they will be in the Mediterranean...too far for us right now. I'm looking at Freedom of the Seas or maybe a Carnival Cruise. I'm a bit leary about Carnival since we've never sailed on it...any ideas?

Aloha,
Jen

Hi Jen,

I know a lot of people have really enjoyed Carnival. A few years ago, a couple of girlfriends and I sailed on them in order to go to a seminar that was being held onboard. For us, it was the worst experience possible!!!!!!! The three of us paid full fare for a room for four and ended up in a room with only one queen size bed. My friends hate cruising so I gave them the bed. One of the gals was very strong personality. She went down to the desk and mentioned what cabin we were in and what we had paid, that it wasn't a $299 special. The guy said that they had only run that special for a couple of weeks. It was one thing after the next. The bad thing is that they then sent an apology to our stateroom with all three of our names on it. There was a bottle of champagne as well...and TWO glasses. Two sets of towels. You get the idea. The biggie to the three of us was when the cruise director said, "No one here knows you. Forget your inhibitions and do what you want." It just kind of rubbed us wrong!!!

Freedom of the Seas looks like it is going to be so much fun. MY kids really want to go on it. They have done the surfing thing at Typhoon Lagoon, and this summer will go to surf camp in Cocoa Beach. So that surf pool really gets them excited. So does the golf!!!

Good luck whatever you decide. If you do Freedom of the Seas...please give us a review next year!!!

Thanks.

Jen -- Do you watch Lost? Last night's episode left me hanging.....many surprises were revealed!

We've had two sets of friends that cruised on Carnival. While they had a good time, they said they preferred the cruise that we all took on RCL.
My brother and his family are about to take a Carnival cruise. I'll let you know how it goes.

Okay...who saw the ads for NCIS??? Do you think it is Gibbs or Ducky that won't be coming back?? I am still having trouble with Kate being gone.

We have had quite the drama today...our Libby, Yellow Lab, discovered two day old bunnies. It has been awful. She got one first thing and it died. We thought that we had them fairly well protected, but she got the rest. Mind you two weeks ago there was an older batch of them. Those we got out and sent to a farm that one of Tom's hygenists owns. The kids are going to release them into the wild this weekend. There have been major tears in the Ferlmann household!

Hope everybody else had a bit quieter of a day!

:tink:

Oh My....Tif....hope everyone is feeling better!

Thanks for the thoughts on the Carnival/RCL cruises. Still haven't decided what we plan to do yet in 2007. It would make it easier if Jonathan's school would give us his 2006/2007 school schedule. Right now I have to guesstimate when his vacations will be but that makes it a bit tough for planning.

Talking about our Disney cruise..has anyone done the stingray excurison with Capt. Marvin? I've read good things about it on the board.

Aloha,
Jen

I agree with you about NCIS! :teeth: I miss Kate to. If they take Gibbs out I don't think the show will last. I was thinking mabe Ziba (spelled wrong). Gibbs was not happy about what she did. It is going to be interesting. I also think that all the CSI's are going to leave us hanging till next year to. We also watch Number's on Friday night. Does any one els ;)

Poor bunnies. So said. I will tell you one thing if my German Shepard every found babies she would do the same thing. Hope letting the other ones out this weekend helps. :grouphug:

:goodvibes Hi all,

Tif im so sorry about your bunnies, hope your children have a better day today.

RE :CSI becareful what you say, im the uk im in the middle of season 6 with the vegas team and season 2 of NY. - I dont know what it is about NY but I cannot remember the names of the characters. You know the doc that is now out in the field, well his replacement (new doc) bugged Dave and I for a few weeks. We knew we'd seen him in something but couldn't remeber what. :confused3 Then it came to me, Don't know if you were madonna fans in the early 80's (but I was a real material girl ;) ) Well in the film she did desperatly seeking Susan, jim her boyfriend is the new doc !! boy has he aged :lmao:

Which ones are gibbs and ducky?

Also Nick stokes has just thankfully shaved his moustache off in the episode we are upto. ( I couldn't take him seriuosly with it on :goodvibes )

Is Numbers the one where the FBi agents brother is a maths tutor. I used to watch northern exposure and he was the doc in that! We have only had series 1 of that here.

Sorry food, CSI & disney are my fave topics and I can talk for hours

Oh well i'd better get going
Take care all :wave2:

Happy Friday Night!!!

Today was definitely a better day! The kids had fun at school. The young man that likes our Abby gave her a diamond heart necklace for her birthday, which is tomorrow! OH...and a carton of the Chewy Chips Ahoy cookies!!! Still no kiss...and we are hoping it stays that way for a long time!!!

On NCIS...Gibbs is Mark Harmon and Ducky is the medical examiner, has a British accent I think. For NY, I really respect Gary Sinise. He seems like a very genuine man. We have gotten to see him at the Candlelight Processional at EPCOT. He is one of our favorites there!

Totally agree on Nick. He has had some awkward looking hair and facial hair the last couple of years. I have also liked Marg Helgenberg over the years, but I am not liking her plumped up lips.

Guess what...it is getting closer and closer!!! So in need of proscutto pizza at Palos!!!!

See ya!
tif

;) Helen, I am a junkie for all the CSI'S, Numbers and NCIS to. I could talk about them like you. I just had the sean end's they leave you hangind till Fall :)

Tif, I know what is getting closer :cheer2: I lve seeing 2 months. In a coupld if weeks we will be down to 1 month and then days. I know I am getting a head of myself.

Yup...the excitement is building! Today I was running around town doing errands when we passed by the Port and saw the Diamond Princess docked. I'm getting so excited about our Disney cruise that I just want to jump on any of the ships cruising Hawaii right now

I've been shopping for our cruise/vacation gear lately:

- cute red blouse with some sequin trim for DD ( 2 1/2) for pirate night....think I'll just cut up some old jeans to complete the outfit. Had to look for something that didn't look like a costume otherwise she won't wear it and we would of had a very grouchy girl at dinner :furious: :teeth:

- New sandals for me and DS (10 & 8) found Tevas and Merrell sandals at Nordstorms Rack so happy about that.

Lately, whenever I go shopping I've been looking for cruise things :teeth:
