Any one on 7-29-06 / 7 Night Western!!!! Is Back

;) Tif, Our Shepard's name is Lexie. We usualy go through breaders but this time we went through German Shepard Rescue of Illinois. We got lucky with her she is great. They found her, her brother ad mother in a forest preserve. I don't understand how people can do that. When we go away we have a sitter that comes three times a day. I told her (lexie) she needs to get a job to pay for it. But I don't want to put her in a kennel I want her to stay home, so it is worht it.
:thumbsup2 That is great with Abby and the boys. Any help you can get with college tuition is great.
I agree with you, I don't want to rush through June, but that makes DCL closer.
Have a good night everyone!

Hi All,

Finally able to log in tonight. We lost power due to down generators for about 6 hours today. Got out all the candles, flashlights, etc. had the kids bathe early and fed them ham sandwiches for dinner . All the candle hunting reminded me that June is the start of hurricane season so this was a good practice for us to start preparing a hurricane plan...since we are in the middle of the Pacific ocean :thumbsup2

Also reminded me about our cruise which is during hurricane season also and we'll be praying for no bad weather :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Kids are finishing school tomorrow.....I better enjoy my last day of peace and quiet :smooth:

Jen

;) I just love the way all are count downs look. :cool1: They all say 1 month weeks and days. :) Just think in a couple of weeks it will be just weeks and days and then just days. :cheer2: I could not be happier. :goodvibes

:dance3: I am so excited! :cool1: I have to tell everyone! ;) The Pens that I ordered for the cruise came in. :) They are incredible! :goodvibes I cannot wait to have the DIS Meet so that I can give them to everyone. :smickey: Just had to share the news. :dogdance: Have a great weekend! :flower1:

Lexie sounds like a true gift! I know what you mean about people just dumping them...it breaks my heart. :sad2:
Just saw this new icon ::popcorn: since I am sitting here playing on the boards eating a bag, it seemed appropriate!!!
Hey Jen, sorry to hear about your generator going down. How often have you guys been affected by hurricanes??? We seem to assume that life is always sunny and perfect out in Hawaii!
We had good rain today! Rain and only a little lightening...at least where we are. Tom is over at the Contemporary pin trading right now. He really loves it. I am getting kicked off the computer. It is Abby's main link to all her friends back home. they all get on late. She is allowed about 45 minutes a day while we are away.

Well, better get going....pixie dust all!

Good Morning everyone! I've been reading all the posts about everyone's dog (s) and I have to laugh because you are naming my Molly to a "t". She is an English lab (chocolate) and she counter surfs like crazy (including eating 1/2 of a cake that I spent hours making for a staff party). We tried keeping everything in the oven but she learned to pull the tea towel hanging on the handle to open the door! When I take her for a ride in my car - she can find a lost french fry from 3 months earlier - that none of us even know was there! (I do clean my car I swear! :rolleyes1 ).
We also adopted a 9 yo yellow lab mix named Sadie in October. She was abandoned because of hurricane Katrina and her owners didn't want her anyone (I offered to foster her until they could get back on their feet) - so Sadie is ours and we've had a lot of thunderstorms lately which send her into orbit. Guess who hasn't slept much the last few nights? :sad2: I've actually given her my bathrobe to snuggle with and sleep one hand touching head - its like having young babies all over again! :rotfl:
I decided to not plan much for Key West - just the chocolate covered frozen key lime pie on a stick that I had before with my sister (OMG - the BEST!). They also have a big "Fresh Produce" shop - which is great for comfortable loose cotton clothing. I also chartered a private snorkel, sail in GCM to Stingray City and a couple other places. The boat holds 5 and we are a party of 3 (1 adult, 2 kids). If a party of two might want to join us - please send me a PM and we'll chat.
I received the pirate bracelets the other day and they are really neat! I can't wait to meet and share with everyone!
Helen - the Kona cafe was good? I booked a character breakfast at Ohanas but wasn't sure of the food at the Poly. Tif have you been or eaten there? Whats new at WDW? We won't be there long enough to do everything -so I'm trying to make a plan to see what we can - but not make the kids crazy with schedules. Flo- how is having your DS home? Wonderful I bet. Jen - hopefully you won't be hit with anymore big storms for a while and that the boys give you *some* peace and quiet. marcij and everyone else I hope you all have a great weekend and I can't wait! I really can't!

PS - <asking shyly> - feeling like an idiot -Can of you savvy folks tell me how to add a ticker?

Hi :wave2:

No need to be shy, go to www. ticker factory .com ( With out spaces) .

You can chose a vacation timer, they talk you through it. At the end of the process you end up with a long line that begins something like [url=http://
You then copy that into your signature ( User control, edit signature)

Hope that makes sense? The best thing is to have a go and experiment.

Molly sounds like fun, isn't it funny that we all have dogs :dogdance:

Well we actually have sun today :sunny: , so im beginning to feel like the summer is here!

We are off to the dogs tonight! by that I mean, we are going with a group of friends to the greyhound racing stadium. Its good fun, if i'm lucky I might win enough to pay for another DCL. Although I doubt it very much as DH & Myself are not big gamblers, we put the £1 minimum bet on between us

Hope you all have a good weekend !
Not long now! :hourglass
:dogdance: :dogdance: :dogdance: :dogdance: :dogdance: :dogdance:

njmom23grls:Animals just amaze me on how they learn. :dogdance: They are smart ones. That was real nice of you to take in one of the dogs. :dog: I do know what you mean about the rain. I have sleep less nights. Yes it is nice having Steven home. Is your daughter home yet? All his boxes are piled up in the basement. And of course there is no rime or reason to the way he packed them, so he cannot find a thing. :dance3:
I have one for you. About 10 years ago we had a German Shepard and a Siberian husky. They were true partners in crime. My husband was making a sandwich and forgot the mayo. He turned about to the Fridge comes back and all that was left is the bread. He looked at the two dogs and they were sharing his ham and cheese. They knew exactly what they wanted.
We also have a parrot and Ferrets. paw:
I cannot wait for the cruise to meet everyone. It is going to be so much fun. It is going to be hot and sunny here today. It is only 10:00 here and it is already 70.
:rainbow:

LOL! Yes - Dani arrived home with trash sacks stuffed with goodness knows what. The train conductor almost won't let her on the train she said. I had vision of sheets and dirty clothes etc. left on the station platform in VT. Now, they are still sitting in a pile on the floor of her room. I just grit my teeth and shut the door.

Ferrets and parrots and dogs - thats an interesting combo. What are ferrets like as pets? My firend in high school had one - but I just remember it scared me because it bit everyone. Guess your dogs then were Atkins fans right (meat and dairy only - hold the carbs? :)

Helen - thanks for the info. I'm going to try this now for profile. Good luck at the races. We'd love to hear you won enough for another DCl trip!

Lisa

Lisa, I know what you mean about there room. :) I think there is just enough space for him to walk.
As far as the Ferrets, I did no want them at first. But know I just love them. They are great pets. We had a bit, but he out grew it. We talke them into one of the bedrooms and let them run around they are fun to paly with. We have 4 of them. Milo and Otis and Shaggy and Scobey. :dance3:

Sounds like all are doing great!!! I have smiled my way through reading the latest posts to our thread!!! Here is a Libby tale...hahahaha!!! We had several friends over for New Year's Eve 2004/2005. The kids were downstairs playing something, the Dad's were left in the kitchen as the moms were off deciding where to put the latest knick knack. Well, we all realized that it had gotten way too quiet in the kitchen. Tom walked over to the basket that had the little smokies wrapped in crescents...the kids favorites. Okay, I like them too! Anyway, the napkin was still folded over them...but instinct won out. He opened the napkin and sure enough, every last smokie was gone! :lmao: Libby kind of slunk over to our sliding back door where she promptly, and quite sheepishly rang the bell. Our que to let her outside. She was out alot that night. Don't even ask about the shrimp tails that she got ahold of!!! My poor little puppy :dog:
If you want a cute little story to read, check amazon.com for The Adventures of Bosco, by Paige Benningfield Dierker. It is the true life adventure my sister had with their onery dog!
Lisa...we ate at O'Hana's twice in the last 10 days. One night was great...the other night not so hot. They have really toyed with the menu, and we were a little let down. If it is all new to you, it might be just the thing!

Well, all...we are hitting Fairway Gardens tomorrow and then sending Tom and Abby home to Illinois. The boys and I will return on Wednesday night. Then it is into tournament after tournament. All is good. While I don't like to rush our summer, I do really look forward to July 1st and being back in Florida...and not having to do anything! Well, at least it's a little slower pace!

Night all!

Hey there! I've been out running errands all day, (some of them cruise-related) so I just now saw this, but your ticker looks great! The charter sounds like a lot of fun, but there are four of us. I'm sure you will find someone to take you up on your offer!

I'm exhausted, but I got a lot done. I'm sitting here watching the Mavs and drinking a margarita my DH made me.

Hey all,

Hope you are all ok, im counting down the minutes till the end of July.
School starts again tomorrow after our half term break. It is trhe finall stretch before the summer holidays :goodvibes . I don't even mind going back to work as I know at the end of this is my cruise.

Last night 'at the dogs' was good fun, although I was the only one in our party not to win a thing  , still I didn't mind. Think I'll try the bingo on board. ;)

Dh has been diving (scuba) today. He says he cant wait till GC as the vis will be a lot better than the north sea, along with the temperature.

Are any of you footy, sorry soccer fans? The UK has gone mad with the world cup starting on Friday. England flags are flying everywhere. Im actually looking forward to the games, its a great community spirit. (and a good excuse for a party) I also think it will help the weeks pass until the cruise.

You know I've not really been thinking about the wdw part of our holiday. We have the dining plan for the 2 days before the cruise. We didn't bother getting it for after the cruise, as normally we eat so much we couldn't face any more food :lmao:

Oh well i'd better get going, hope the week passes quickly.

Have fun
Helen x

Hi all,

Hope you all had a great weekend. Last night after dinner we all went window shopping in Waikiki. Well in one store they were having a 70% off sale so I went to look in the bins. The first bin had the usually magnets, leftover type of items. When I checked the second bin I was so excited to find pen packs of 6 pens per pack....and all the pens had either Mickey, Minnie or Pooh characters on the pen with the word "Hawaii" :cool1: :cool1: DH was wondering what I was grabbing and I had to explain to him that I was getting it for my cruise friends. :goodvibes He just gave me  LOL I then told him that we were also bringing shell leis and mac nuts and he looked at me like I was crazy :teeth:

I wasn't sure how many to buy though. How many items is everyone getting?

We have my nephews graduation party at our house this Saturday night so we will be busy all week getting set up for that. Things never seem to slow down :dance3:

ALoha,
Jen

Jen, You are going to need this cruise to rest arent you? ;) I had 100 pens made up. But then I could only buy in 50 or 100. I did not know how many that is why I got so many made. ;) I figure pens can always be used. :goodvibes My husband tells me I have a habit of over buying like this I am sure. :)

Thank you Helen for the help with the ticker! It was so easy! :sunny: I do follow Football - especially at World Cup time.- Although our local press is mostly covering the import of workers into Germany in a certain "industry" - I guess they are trying to drum up additional interest.

Pretty Soon :boat: It's getting closer :dance3: We will be on the Magic :woohoo:

Yes...it is getting close! I was working on my "final" shopping list today ......dress pants for boys, underwater camera, sunscreen etc.

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Aloha,
jen
