I am traveling in Feb to WDW with my family. Our DS will be a little over 6 months old and instead of packing his diapers, formula, food, extra items, I have read that it is a good idea to send these things ahead of time in a care package to the hotel you are staying at. Has anyone ever dones this and if so has did it help?

We are stoked about going on this trip - we are celebrating our DD 4th b-day and just want to be as prepared as can be. :-)

Thanks for you advice and input.

Yep I have done it twice.

I shipped UPS both times from dh's work so technically it was free one time since he just didn't pay & they didn''t ask & the first time it was a good UPS work discount.

I ship diapers, wipes (other then a full day & a half supply for the plane ride, like to have extra just in case), breakfast foods, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, clorox wipes & hand sanitizer, table toppers, snack foods, swim diapers & basically everything I do not want to bring back home with me-but we do take the extra diapers back home since we are not that stupid.

We ship directly to the resort & have it arrive about 2 days before hand per the Disney reservationist. Just remember weekends don't count in shipping days so if you are arriving on a Monday have your box arrive on a Friday.

We put our name "arriving guest XXXX" & what day we are arriving & I have put our reservation # on it too.

Then when we get there we tell them we have a package & they say, "yes I see that on your reservation" & bell services delivers it to our room.

I just sent a 24 pack of bottled water, a box of Capri-sun juice boxes, package of diapers and package of wipes over the weekend to our hotel. We arrive this Friday, and the UPS Store told me it would be there Thursday, so it will be waiting for us.

I did call the hotel to make sure it could be done, and the CM told me that people do it all the time.

We also order some Disney autograph books and are having them delivered right to the hotel. And it being Winter in Wisconsin, no one has shorts in the store, so I ordered some from Walmart.com and sent them directly to the hotel.

The hotel is probably thinking that we are moving in or something, with 3 packages to be waiting for us to arrive.

3 days to go....:beach:

I've done it several times. I never have more than 2 checked bags for our family of 5. It is so much easier to get through the airport without being loaded down with lots of luggage.

I've even mailed stuff home. I put a return label in and packing tape in the box I mail down and the front desk UPS's the package back home to us.

On my last trip I ordered 2 cases of water from Staples and they shipped them to the hotel for free with my rewards card.
