Any one else had this problem with Avis or other rental co.??

I made my res. on-line then changed it to get a lower rate. When I get to the airport they try to charge me for the higher rate (once much higher). I always bring a copy of my confirmed res. so it's not a problem getting them to fix it but I'm getting annoyed. This has happened both times we've used Avis. Oh and I never have 2 standing res. by the time we go on our vacation so it shouldn't be that.
 
I am not surprised.

If the rental companies try to jack up everybody's rate, at least a few people won't complain and a few more forgot to (or didn't know how to) make and bring a printout showing their on line reservatin. So in the long run they make more money.

Maybe if they get enough complaint letters they will be more careful about preparing paperwork with the correctly reserved rates in place.
