Last night took my DS 13 and DD 9 to the drive in. It was buy one admission get the same one free(adults 5.00, kids 2-11 2.00) so cost us 7.00 to see Garfield an the new Hrry Potter movie. On the down side it was a bit chilly and the movies didn't get oveeeeer until 2:10 AM. Luckily I dont work on Wed. Kids enjoyed it. I slept thru most of Harry potter. Will go again. We hadn't went in about 2 years. Kind of forget about it. Used to go alot on Sunday nights for carload night at 10.00 a carloaa, Now they just have family night on tuesdays. Figure we got a good deaal. But I am dead tire d now, gong to go to bed. The kids stayed awake for both.:Pinkbounc

My DH and I took the kids a couple of years ago. I didn't take into account how hot the car would get in Atlanta in July. Aside from being very warm, we had a lot of fun.

them where the days, havent done it in years

We just found out there is a drive-in by us. It starts at 9pm and right now they are showing Shrek2 and Harry Potter! $6 each for DH and I, DD is free (under 4). I love drive-in movies! :)

We went just a couple of weeks ago to see the Day After Tomorrow & Shrek 2. It was fun. Can't beat 2 movies for the price of 1. It's great to kick of your shoes, recline the seat & enjoy the movie in peace. :)

Sadly, there aren't any drive-ins around here anymore. I loved going to them as a kid. I feel so deprived now.:(

We go quite a bit during the summer. We went last week to see Shrek 2 and Mean Girls-- then 2 weeks before that to see Shrek 2 and In a NY Minute-- during a downpouring thunder storm. We usually sit outside the car on camp chairs as we find it more comfortable than the car. I love going. The only downside is I sometimes can't stay up through the 2nd movie!!

Went here and saw Shrek 2 and Harry Potter, It is 3.50 a car load on Thursdays. 2 movies for 3.50 you can't beat that. Plus being able to bring your own snacks.:D

Yes, we went on Sunday night! Our double feature was Shrek 2 and then The Terminal (that new Tom Hanks one). Nothing beats the drive-in! The kids love the playground at ours. It's fun to see all the kids in their pajamas and then they are usually asleep in time for the more grown up movie.

Drive-in nights are HUGE in my house. We have 2 very close to home.

We just went last Saturday to see Shrek 2 and Harry Potter.

Our Drive-in is $7 for adults and all kids are free. So $14 bucks for 5 of us to see 2 movies..great deal.

We can even take Demon baby and it is no problem. Could never take him to a real theatre.

If Dh or I see a preveiw for a action summer movie, we yell "Drive-In" and plans are made for a trip.

We go about 5-7 times a summer.

What drive-in do you go to MagicalMom? The only one that I know of near us is The Big M in CHurchville, MD.

I'm a big fan of the Drive-in. There is one about 15 minutes from where we live. Can't beat it.

Funny you should ask! We just went to the Capri Drive-in, in Coldwater, Tuesday night!! $7 each to get in, and we saw "Garfield" and "Dodge Ball." The prices at the concession stand were very reasonable too. We had a blast! It brought back lots of great memories. Just wish we had one closer to where we live.

We do drive-ins every summer. It's become a tradition with us. $14 for a carload, regardless of how many people are in the car. (With coupons, it's $7).

With a minivan, we just store the third row seat, fold the 2 row flat, and put down blankets & pillows, and eat Long John Silver for dinner. Oh, and we plunk down the citronella candle so the mosquitos stay away!

During intermission, it's time for popcorn, ice cream, and other junk. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce:

So cool! I didn't know they were still around! Haven't seen one in years!

We went last weekend for Shrek 2. It was a lot of fun! (I think it was around $14 for us too). With 4 kids it is THE way to go to the movies. We dress the kids in PJ's, fold down the 3rd seat, get out the mosquito repellant, and buy the popcorn. We are lucky to still have three drive-in theatres within an hours drive (one of them about 15 minutes away) I'm hoping Harry Potter gets to our drive-in soon.

Check out www.driveintheater.com for an ever shrinking list of drive-in theaters. We took our kids to see their first movie at a drive-in in Tallmadge (Ohio) several years ago. When I checked the website, I found that the theater is long gone. :(

I used to live just down the road from the AutoRama Drive-In in North Ridgeville (Ohio). I was there when it was built and saw many movies there with my mom and dad and brother and sister. I'm happy to say that they are still in business and that I plan to drag the family over there some weekend to see a movie.
